Description: Like most Varisians, Catalena has olive skin and wears her black ringlets long. She is of average height and build. She has deep brown eyes and a piercing gaze. Along her left arm, from wrist to shoulder, is a colorful tattoo of butterflies. She wears practical, yet brightly colored clothing of violet and orange, and always her kapenia, a Varisian family scarf of complex, swirling patterns. Her voice is rich, deep, and soft and her mouth settles easily to smiles and laughter.

Background: Catalena is a traveling singer, dancer, tale-spinner, and fortune teller, trusting in her Harrow deck to steer people toward better paths. She trusts the cards implicitly, even for her own decisions, almost to a fault. She is a devout follower of Desna, The Great Dreamer, and believes her arcane gifts have been bestowed upon her by Lady Luck herself. She fervently believes in the freedom of the open road, wishing to never stay long in a single place. Unfortunately, recently, she has gotten into trouble in both Magnimar and Sandpoint for convincing fortune-seekers too well of the paths she saw before them. When she saw mortal danger to two of Sandpoint's town Garrison, they quit the next day to head for less risky posts. The Sheriff, Belor Hemlock, pressed her into service to help fill their shifts until replacements could be hired in lieu of getting locked up for bunko artistry.
