Her powers were self serving. Draining someone's life just didn't seem like it could ever be good. She hadn't been to a real classroom with students for a long time. Tutors were the only people that taught her other than Nyx herself. Heck it was Nyx that taught her about her powers. She didn't say what she was thinking. As much as her first reaction was negative she wasn't under Nyx's abusive thumb. That alone was something.
