I should have known that! Since I've set precedent going to Episode I of certain franchises, may as well go to: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (for those of you on the right side of the pond; for those of us on the left, s/Philosopher/Sorcerer/g.) | | | | Joined: May 2014 Posts: 5,301 Likes: 1 Confusingly Confused Moderator | Confusingly Confused Moderator Joined: May 2014 Posts: 5,301 Likes: 1 | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 11,204 Likes: 16 Maris Imperium Moderator | Maris Imperium Moderator Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 11,204 Likes: 16 | I absolutely adore Dame Maggie! While I'd love to go to Downton, I think the chain would be better served in a more exotic location.

Guess we better mention Bond then:

I do remember that skydiving thing in the 2012 olympics with the Queen. But if I recall correctly, pre-Bond Mr. Craig starred alongside someone acting as the Queen in Elizabeth. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 | He did, and that was Cate Blanchett at her finest. So Cate Blanchett. (That Bond/QE2 short clip was the highlight of the London Olympics! Seriously, I can't remember anything else about them.) | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 22,967 Numbers Geek Moderator | Numbers Geek Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 22,967 | | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 16,536 Likes: 25 Mayhem Inc. But it was three movies, and damned if I can't remember their names. I think the first one was an unexpected journey. OK, looked it up. Got it right. Probably my favourite film of all time after Jaws.

Fun Fact: Mrs. Aqua was on-set and can be seen in the background of a scene in A Time To Kill. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 | Huh, well then Kiefer Sutherland. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 22,967 Numbers Geek Moderator | Numbers Geek Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 22,967 | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 | | | | | Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 10,472 Likes: 3 Administrator | Administrator Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 10,472 Likes: 3 | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 11,204 Likes: 16 Maris Imperium Moderator | Maris Imperium Moderator Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 11,204 Likes: 16 | Grabbing some popcorn. <munch, munch> | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,126 Likes: 10 | Hey AquaDyne, did you guys get paid for your extra work? I always wondered how prevailent unpaid extras are in the industry.
So, an actor...

I always wondered how prevailent unpaid extras are in the industry. No, it's all about the fifteen seconds of fame! Or maybe five. Or one. . I think it's extremely common. With me and Magnum, it was an open invitation to stand around in a formation on camera for the hours it would take for the five-second shot, and many opted not to join, as we wasted so many hours per day doing that already. But for a chance to point at yourself on TV later? Worth the time-waste, I thought. I arrived later and got stuck further back, though, so maybe it wasn't worth it. With my wife and A Time To Kill, this was a few years before I met her. The filming was in Canton, and her mother managed a movie theatre in Jackson, the nearest big city. Off-duty staff came to watch movies (comped, of course.). That led to her hobnobbing with the director and other staff, who invited them on set for a day of filming. Being a VIP guest of the Director meant all the other "extras" hanging around for the filming thought they were big stars and kept telling them they knew they had seen them in some movie or another. They did get their faces spritzed with water to look more sweaty. Not that it mattered, they were in the courtroom balcony, so far away from the cameras and often blurred out. This is probably the best shot: My wife had a crush on Matthew McConaughey, of course, but he (and the rest of the cast) was rather distant, probably trying to remain "in character". ... And... don't know what else Robert Shaw was in, so continuing to munch popcorn. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 22,967 Numbers Geek Moderator | Numbers Geek Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 22,967 | | | |
