Do you add conditional modifiers to an attack when you roll the attack? So frex, Arus gets +2 damage when wielding a one-handed weapon from Duelling. Also, we never did get around to magic item allocation. I think Arus's non-magical kit is pretty good anyway, but in case we encounter damage resistance or need healing potions, etc.. I'm thinking back to that damn flaming skull in LMP. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 | Roll20 should take care of it. We'll tweak in game.
BTW, we've started to meet in Discord and log into Roll20 already

I posted something in the Our Community forum (where I was peak obnoxious), but for record keeping, here's the screen shot I took today... The game looks really interesting. I noted that many of the writers of modules are old WOTC and even TSR writers - some of the best. As for the scotch, I wish I was there with you Neil to share a glass. I'm not a big drinker, but I love myself some single-malt scotch from the Islay. Sometimes the peat is too much, so that one looks intriguing.

Nep, are you starting a new thread for the session write-ups? | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 15,098 Likes: 10 Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator | Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator Joined: May 2009 Posts: 15,098 Likes: 10 | I have Shadow of the Demon Lord. It is definitely a crunchy old school style. However, it has tons of flavor and is a neat, if very dark style world. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 76,620 Likes: 59 Wizop Administrator | Wizop Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 76,620 Likes: 59 | So cool! I just noticed that I had not expressed a similar sentiment <wink>
Thanks Nep!! Looking forward to the next one ... I think <weg>

I thoroughly enjoyed myself even before the scotch. Hopefully the indefatigable Kriv Norixius can waylay the fire giants long for us to overrun them, without getting himself Urlamed. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,134 Likes: 5 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,134 Likes: 5 | Well ... if there are enough 'aficionados' of 'good Scotch' in the group ... maybe we should get together and pick a good single malt (preferably Isley <g>) as the 'sponsored beverage' in enough time before the next meet up to allow time for 'those interested' to 'grab a bottle' <weg>

You could buy bottles from them that were not diluted down to the Excise requirement of 40% vol. Nice! | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 | You're all welcome. I was nervous before running - more about tech issues than anything else (the kind that MikeD ran into). Yesterday wasn't the time or place to troubleshoot. Mike was a trooper and hung in there. I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Neil, it is a lot of work but it's easier than you think once you know how to use some tools. I have a "Pro" subscription to Roll20 which gives me access to lots of cool tools that simplify things. I'll help out folks that want to run games there. MikeD, The best that I'm rocking is some Chivas and while it says it's 12 years old on the bottle, I'll wager it aged a few in my liquor cabinet But I'll pour some for our get-together. I drink it neat, like I should. When COVID-19 disappears, I'll get bottle of single-malt Islay. Zeim, thanks for helping. I know that you were blindsided by my "please help MikeD out request (I saw that grimace LOL). Your "let's roll real dice" suggestion was aces!

Just a little annoying to share a screen as every time I made any changes on Roll20 it appeared as if I had to click back in Discord to update the screen share.
I felt bad rolling for MikeD. I wanted him to be more engaged, even with the technical issue, so the idea of "what the heck did we used to do before technology? Roll the damn dice by hand!" just sort of popped into my head.
My favorite scotch is Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood, Speyside Single Malt. They age the single malt in Sherry Casks. Very smooth. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,066 Likes: 9 Wobbly Headed Administrator | Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,066 Likes: 9 | The dangerous thing about Black Bottle is that it's cheap, yet still tastes like a decent, peaty Islay. If your aim is moderation I do not recommend Black Bottle. I really enjoyed seeing what everyone's characters were capable of too, via Roll20 giving us a summary of the spell/ability being used. Usually we only see the outcome here, and if it's just damage without a kill it looks just like an ordinary attack mechanically. Like Chaos Bolt, most of the time it just looks like a few points of fire or thunder damage, etc. You don't see its true potential unless it fulfils its true potential. Btw, what browser/OS combo, GPU and broadband were you guys using? I was using Firefox 75 with Windows 10 1909, an nVidia GTX 1070 Ti, and 70 Mbps FTTC connection. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,134 Likes: 5 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,134 Likes: 5 | Nep, the age ... if stated on the label ... is how long it was aged in a barrel ... not the bottle <g> In theory, the time spent in the bottle does not affect the whiskey at all ... assuming the cap is on <g>
FWIW, I am a fan of the Islays as well! Just can't afford them often.

I might have to try my Toshiba laptop, it's old but has a new lease of life from Linux Mint! I think they have a Discord distro. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,134 Likes: 5 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,134 Likes: 5 | My browser is Pale Moon and my connection is <sigh> verizon.

My setup is below. My primary machine is a Lenovo T570 (8GP 64-bit i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40 GHz), Windows 10, Chrome, 100MB connection with 2 extra monitors. But that's just my main system. This is most of my setup. Everything on the Network. There's a 2nd Lenovo T570 (major HW problem), my old Lenovo work desktop running Windows 10, an old Dell Latitude Pentium III laptop and a Gateway 2000 Pentium II both of which started with Windows 98 and now run Windows XP. Lots of these are file servers now.

FWIW, I still remember when I had to take my rotary dial phone, dial a number and shove the hand-set into the 300 baud acoustical modem <chuckle> And it was 110 before that <wink>
