[I had Chandan climbing up to the more northerly of the tunnels to fix a rope, then stand guard at the top.]

"Well, we can't leave Chandan out there alone, can we? Plus, I think the climb would be much easier using the ropes he put in place."

"It would be helpful if we could get some light over there so I could better cover them", he said to any one in a position to make it happen.

Chandan runs across the chamber, ignoring the bugbears that were standing vigil. They ignore him too, for now. By this point they bugbears have been given instructions and are likely aware of the dangers that the recent invaders pose. While not the most intelligent of monsters, they are not the dumbest. They have an uncanny ability to get the jump on opponents and are being led by someone that obviously had tactical training. And as they depart, the party moves in, shedding light in the large cavern. With the aid of light, Chandan makes it across and climbs the wall. It takes several minutes to do so, and to find a good place to tie the rope. They now have a way across. This is a problem now only for the druid, who can't real climb a rope as a bear.

OOC: Falling damage is less than the damage reduction. You can roll to play out how it plays from a roleplaying perspective, but Chandan will take no damage. Others can too. With the lookouts having disbursed, you see no imminent threats.

Davroar

Remaining in his bear form he ignores the rope, trusting his strength and claws to get up the cliff. He gives Chandan a friendly nudge for him to keep guard as he has an idea to help people up.
Position himself properly he gets the rope across his chest and once he feels tension he will start walking further into the tunnel using his strength and weight to help pull people up.
Hopefully they will get the idea to loop the rope around their waists so in case they loose their grip they won't fall and hurt themselves.

He kept an eye on the bugbears, wondering what they were doing here and whether they would become an active threat at some point.

Luminmorn

The large armored dragon knows bears are strong but is skeptical of their current arrangement. Nevertheless he sheaths his weapon and attempts to secure himself so that he can get across. He plans on being one of the first ones so that he can help assist the others.

[[ Yep. The bugbears saw you and bugged out. Cowards! I thing that you said north. ]]

[[ thanks. the last mention of them I saw said they were watching <g> I have Bern 'over there' covering the way we came. ]]

Jaliera

She joins Bern near the exit where the bugbears disappeared. She sends Whisper to scout ahead, taking care not to expose herself.

Ryssa


The cleric of Lathander, shield and magic mace at the ready, moved forward and closer to Bern and Jaliera. She looked back, but the dwarf they had rescued had not moved to follow her.

"Numdro, move up here with me."

Nundro
The dwarf listens to the young cleric and does as he's told, grumbling at the fact that he's got to climb. But he succeeds.

The Dragonborn ascends, positioning himself closer to the vanguard, ready to light up their foes.

Chandan

Chandan's glad for the bear's assistance. Even though he's lived his whole life in the mountains, he spent very little of it climbing cliff-faces. Where he comes from, only hot-blooded youngsters do such things. Chandan's an old man now, and he never was very daring.

As the youngest in a family of many children, he was generally stuck with his mother and the other village women. He grew accustomed to it, their banter, their old wisdom, until when he was a young man, while his brothers and sisters were getting married, he joined a monastic order.

Since leaving his home, he has found new drive though. His life is but a drop of rain on its way to the ground. But together with others, they can form a torrent that can wash away evil and nurture life. So Chandan guards the top of the cliff with his spear, as best he can, looking out for bugbears and other threats until the party is reassembled.

DM
It takes a several minutes but eventually everyone is able to climb down into the chasm and then back up to the ledge. Jaliera sends Whisper forward and she moves down the tunnel but stops and lets Jaliera know that there is some sort of barricade that has been erected. Indeed, once light spills forward for Chandan to use to see, he sees large rocks and other rubbish that has been piled up to block their way. When he looks at the barricade, the monk can't help but think that the rocks are very big - probably too big for a lone bugbear to easily move.
OOC: I'm assuming that some of you just didn't get around to moving your token (Ex, AJ and Pande) but if you don't get around to doing it by tomorrow, I'll just get you across. I moved Nundro. Anywhere up to where Neil placed Chandan is fine. As for getting past the barricade, please describe how you're trying to do that and please make any rolls needed. Strength is probably the attribute we're looking to use and the DC is lower than the door before - 15.

He moved forward to check out the 'obstacle' in their way ...

He will follow Bern trusting his nose more than his vision to lead him up to the debris blocking their way.
Moving deliberately slow he sniffs along the path and the rocks wanting to determine if it was the Drow, the bugbears or something else that did this.

Another obstacle. The Dragonborn reached for his crowbar, and glanced across to see who was occupying the space available to them to lend their strength to freeing them. Regardless, once those examining the barrier gave the all-clear, he put his back into the task, intelligently and methodically working away at it.

She will attempt to provide cover with her bow for those working on the barricade. Meanwhile she sends Whisper a little further forward to scout.

"Watch out for traps or an ambush" she cautions they others.

Ryssa


Looking around carefully, Ryssa moved forward and stopped alongside Nundro. She held her magic mace and her shield, ready to bring forth light if needed, wondering if she would be better off pulling her shortbow from her back and using that.
