Davroar

Davroar's main intention is to keep his flaming sphere going as far and as long as possible, because the archers will need light if anything comes through the exits on the other side of the chasm. Once Chandan gets to the other side, Davroar will cancel his flame sphere, shape-change into his spider form, and quickly cross along the ceiling. With his better dark vision as a spider, if anything does try to come at them he will throw his web at the enemy.

Jaliera

As they seem to be moving down, Jaliera sends Whisper to the front so that she can keep an eye on Chandan and move in support if needed. Meanwhile she will stay back, probably along side Bern as the two of them work well together to cover the group. As the others move down, she will follow though, keeping them fairly well together in line with Ryssa's suggestion. Her friend is wise.

<Bern>

When the others have made it down, he slings his bow and follows. Once down, he gets his bow ready again.

[ooc: That's fine Neptune. I have moved my character as indicated then, and ignore my previous about shape change to avoid causing trouble for the group. ]

The party gets to the bottom of the chasm without much trouble. The only way out of here seems to be to cross the stream and climb up the ropes that the bugbears must have used to climb down from the other side of the rift. You had seen stairs flanking the place in the western wall where the stream flows out of.

Davroar

The stream only looks to be about five feet across, but being overly cautious he will test the depth of it using his staff.
If the creek is as innocuous as it looks he turns to the others and says, "Cross here or head upstream a bit?"

DM
Dugan, being a man of nature, realizes that running water is typically clean and even potable. The fir on the legs of the now dead bugbears is matted indicating that that they had waded through the stream.

Chandan

The monk looks around, but here seems as good a place as any to cross.

Chandan wonders if the bugbears had come down to the stream to collect water. If they had, there might be vessels lying around, and if they're lucky, a trail of spilt water leading back to their encampment.

Either way, the bugbears don't appear to have fussed over where to cross, so Chandan wades into the stream, probing with his spear.

"Here, I'll go first, Davroar." He says to the druid. "Any danger, I am sure I can find it!"

Jaliera

She will have her bow ready and provide cover whilst the others cross.

Once Chandan is across and up, he went next.

There seems to be no danger in crossing the stream. It's cold, as one would expect cave water to be. Otherwise, safe. Eventually everyone gets to the other side. The only way out now is to climb "up" the ropes.

Ryssa


The devotee of the Morninglord follows the others, crossed the stream, shivering a bit at the bite of the frigid water and then stopped with the others. She looked up at the ropes they would have to utilize next.

"It looks farther up than it did down."

Davroar

He quickly slips out of his boots, crosses the creek and slips back into his boots to keep them dry for the climb up the ropes. He figures the brief pain of the cold creek water on his bare feet will make his climbing a little bit easier in dry boots. Davroar is not a strong climber, as he still has bad memories of climbing up the shaft in the goblin cave only to fall and hurt himself. He is tempted to shape-shift into a giant spider again to make the climb a lot easier, but if any attackers arrive he would rather be in his bear form instead. For now he decides to remain in his normal human form and smiles in reply to Chandan, "You usually do..." He will wait for Chandan and Bern to get to the top and will then start up himself.

Jaliera

As she is waiting for the others to climb, she tests the water. It looks fresh. Maybe an opportunity to refill waterskins?

Kriv

The Dragonborn crossed the stream.

Chandan

"Most monsters find me a disagreeable starter. Better that way!" Chandan says over his shoulder to Davroar.

Indeed, the last thing you should do to a man-eating monster is feed is encourage its appetite.

The old monk looks around for anything of the sort, whilst waiting for the party to regroup atop the west side of the chasm.

DM
Now that they're all across the stream safely, they need to go up. There's one rope leading up.

[ooc: Errg, if we need to do STR checks I suggest the strongest go up first and those without the bonuses have a second rope tied around their waists so that the top people can hold to prevent falls ]
