Singling out a bugbear within range, Chandan summons the elemental forces again. Bugbears are agile, not the ideal target for this power, but it's a gamble worth taking. His only other option is to throw his spear or darts, and the monk can't be sure of recovering them.
[I'll have another go. Was a fun idea.
Chandan spends 2 Ki points. Southern bugbear must Dex save vs DC 14.
On a success, it takes 5 bludgeoning damage.
On a failure, it takes 11 bludgeoning damage, is pulled 25 feet and is attacked again by Chandan unarmed for 5 damage. And then, because it's over the chasm, takes 10 falling damage (from 2d6). For 26 damage total if it fails.]

Seeing the one bugbear untouched he will roll his flame sphere into it with minimal effect.

Pleased that her spell of flame had worked so well on its previous use, Ryssa called upon the blessings of the Morninglord and cast another spell, this time toward the more seriously wounded bugbear.

Ryssa calls upon the Morninglord to punish the bugbears and one is engulfed in his ire. With fire raining down on them from above, the burly foes retreat into darkness, away from harm. They both run west.
bugbear-5 Dex save Neptune rolled 1d20+2 and got 13
This encounter is effectively over with two of the bugbears wounded but now out of sight. What are you doing?

Remembering there was a drow standing by the stairs earlier, he will move his flaming sphere closer there to dissuade any foes approaching from that direction.

"I think we need to go down there and continue on, having come this far. Although there is a chasm, the bugbears came up out of it so there must be a way down or across."

The cleric looked around from one to another of her companions, her lower lip tucked beneath her upper teeth as she tried to decide what was the best plan to follow.
"I think we should stay close to each other," she said, smiling curtly to Jaliera and her long-time ranger friend.

The height doesn't daunt the monk. He steps off the ledge and sails to the bottom with a billowing of robes and baring of nobbly knees.
Tidying his saffron scarf after landing, Chandan looks around warily before giving his companions the all clear.

With the others making their way down, he leans a bit further out to better cover them.

That started as soon as they entered this dungeon. He can be both stealthy and elusive (speed) and can take care of himself to some degree. Seeing as he's already moved forward, we can stick with that plan.
I will forego the climbing athletics check.
