In any case, where you placed her, Ryssa cannot attack them at all because she's on the wrong side of a wall. When I measured early today, she was too far away to achieve melee next round. You could move her token directly west and use a cantrip or other spell.

He hears the ghoul hitting Bern again, and is glad he manages to keep going knowing that these things can paralyze. Seeing Whisper swoop down he knows that the others must be getting close to helping, and pushes his attack hitting his ghoul again with a more solid hit.

Through the contact with Whisper she is very aware of the situation in the room. Almost there now but the able melee fighters are likely to get in ahead of her, so she aims for the far corner where she can ensure no other nasty surprises can creep up on them. If she is needed in the fight she can go through the double doors to get in the back. It is really hard not rushing in to try to save Davroar and Bern but she is better protecting the rest of the group so they can do their job.

Note that there's a measuring tool in Roll20 on the toolbar to the left. It's the little circle with a diagonal "comb" sticking out the top right. Very cool.

Unable to get close enough to strike one of the ghouls, Ryssa moved up diagonally behind Chandan and launched a minor spell at the ghoul which was attacking Bern.

Davroar is able to slam his enchanted staff into the ghouls chest. Bones crunch as it strikes but the damned thing still is coming. Bern, not happy about his sword skills, slashes at the ever-hungry ghoul and the blade hits nothing but air. Suddenly there's a column of fire slams down towards one of the ghouls. Ryssa to the rescue! Unfortunately the ghoul is able to dodge the pillar of holy flame. OOC: The ghoul gets a dex save vs Sacred Flame ...

Sprinting in the shaky light carried by his rearward companions, Chandan arrives on the scene of Davroar and Bern's undead diversion. Leaping into the fray, the old monk's spear glints and gleams as it stabs one-two, followed by a flying knee.
Little offends him more than the undead, and Chandan's aim is to destroy both ghouls before they can do any more harm.

Chandan to the rescue! His spear doesn't kill the Ghoul on Bern but his knee destroys the other one. It is still hungry and claws at Davroar but it misses.
Ghoul-2 has only 6 hp left. Jaliera and Davroar get their attacks but everyone else goes after. Let's see who kills it.

While the ghouls were not part of the plan, they accomplished what Davroar and Bern had intended to do by bringing the others here to help move benches and things to create some sort of protective barrier. Aside from the benches, the rubble outside the rooms is heavy enough to be used to create a wall of sorts and small enough that, with heavy labor, can be moved.

There was no way any of them could have expected more ghouls to move in so soon. Still he acknowledges Bern's concern and says, "You're right Bern. I thought we'd be fine since we were not gone that long from here." He shrugs his shoulders at that, and will then start making a suitable barricade at the top of the stairs here.
With the job done and satisfied that it should offer some protection should their enemies try to come at them from this direction, he dusts his hands off on his pants and thanks everyone for their help.
