As she looked around, Ryssa saw Jaliera almost reeling, displaying a panicked look and turning to run back down the hallway by which they had entered. Calling on the help of her deity, Lathander, the cleric shrugged off her own paid, got to her feet and ran to intercept her new friend.
"Here, lie down, Jaliera," Ryssa said soothingly as she put her arms around Jaliera and tried to comfort the burn victim on the floor of the cave.
"Let me share with you the balm of the Morninglord."
Murmuring a heartfelt prayer to her deity, Ryssa clutched her holy icon in her left hand and waved her right hand over her friend, casting a spell of healing which evidenced itself with a soft, green glow which disappeared into Jaliera's wounds.
Let's deal with Jaliera's "Unlikely.. panic reaction". Let's do an "opposing check". It seems to me to be a case of Ryssa's persuasive ability vs. Jaliera's strong will - an opposing skill test. Normally I would charge an action to do this and would not do it between PC's but what the hay. Gypsy, you can act any way that you desire based on the results. If Ryssa wins and Jaliera still runs, we can attribute that to "drama".
Ryssa, give me a 1d20+1 roll (Persuasion) Jaliera, give me a 1d20+2 roll (Wisdom)
Ryssa's roll must exceed Jaliera's for her to be persuasive. And since "Fire" is something that really sets Jaliera off, Exeter, roll with disadvantage, having to overcome the traumatic events that shaped Jaliera.
He nodded with grim satisfaction as the vagrant ended the flaming skull, though there were still lesser undead to eliminate. He snapped his talons, raising his hands up to swing his maul even as it materialised in his grip, unleashing a level of wild viciousness usually absent from his attacks.

Happy to see the flame skull destroyed, he will turn his attention to the nearest zombie and hit it with his web to slow it down. Davroar (spider form) Shoot web at zombie #7 Dugan rolled 1d20+5 and got 23
[OOC: Sorry about that, Nep... I knew better but just wasn't thinking clearly... If you'll look above at my original roll, I've added a secondary one - both resulted in 16.]
OOC: Zombie #7 is restrained. Ryssa wins the "persuasion vs will" test. Gypsy, you can act any way that you like Once you go, I'll ghost for Lumi and go for the zombies.
Hearing Ryssa's voice and feeling guilt about turning to run leaving Davroar and the others to carry on the fight, her footsteps falter. She leans against the wall just inside the tunnel opening, her back to the flames, shivering uncontrollably.
The dragonborn flanks the zombie that Kriv had nearly killed and swings his battleaxe. Although it was not one of his better swings, the zombies are easy targets and he manages to bury the axeblade in it's chest and destroys it. He then moves forward to block other zombies from getting through.
Three of the remaining zombies flee out of sight. The other three attack the two dragonborns and the old man, but none of them can get past their defenses.
Luminmorn Attack Z6 Neptune rolled 1d20+6,1d8+4 and got 10, 7
Z5,Z7,Z8 Attacks Lumi, Kriv and Chandan Neptune rolled 1d20+3,1d6+1,1d20+3,1d6+1,1d20+3,1d6+1 and got 10, 6, 14, 5, 16, 4
Looking around, Ryssa saw that everyone seemed to be rather seriously wounded with the exception of Kriv. She knew that she could perform a group healing spell on up to six of her companions (including herself).
The cleric looked around, making sure that everyone was in sight range, moving up a little closer to insure that she was in range of everyone. Murmuring an intense prayer to Lathander, she cast a Prayer of Healing spell on six of her seven team members.
The Dragonborn noble swung his maul with wild abandon, pulverising the zombie before him, swiftly moving along with the momentum of that hit to finish off the one facing Chandan, finally ending up reciprocating the flank with his fellow Dragonborn.
Kriv Maul Z7, great weapon mastery AJ rolled 1d20+1,1d6,1d6 and got 11, 4, 1 Kriv gwf reroll AJ rolled 1d6 and got 3
Ryssa's magical healing feels good as his burns are almost completely healed. Moving forward again along the ceiling, he shoots his web at the last remaining zombie just for keeping it from attacking even though it is outnumbered now.
Davroar (spider form) Shoot web at zombie #5 Dugan rolled 1d20+5 and got 19
She has still not returned but feels Ryssa's healing flowing through her once more. She feels restored in body but must still overcome her fear.
She cannot feel any heat but she can hear the sounds of fighting. Davroar is there! Her friends are there! She cannot hide away and let them battle on without her. With a sheer act of will she turns back to face into the cavern again, her eyes searching frantically for the skull, the one who washed that flame over them all. But she cannot see it! Has it been vanquished?
She takes a deep breath and raises her bow, looking for a target, her heart beating fast but her hand finally steady.
DM With the flameskull gone and half the zombies turned, the team dispatches the remaining dangers quickly. There is a moment of peace, enough for a short breath and a quick conversation before the holy warding that had them fell wears off.
Luminmorn attacks Z5 with advantage Neptune rolled 1d20+6,1d20+6,1d8+4 and got 17, 15, 8 Zombie break free of webs Neptune rolled 1d20+1 and got 4
Since it's still restrained and forever hostile, we'll assume that you finish off the last remaining Zombie (Z5). The other zombies will remain turned for 8 rounds or 48 seconds. Think fast! WeBern is up
OOC: They fled into darkness. I'll move Luminmorn forward to assist with the light. DM Luminmorn moves forward to reveal the rest of the room with his torch. The zombies appear to have left the room from the north, turning left. If someone would pursue, they would need to climb down into the channel and see where it leads.
OOC: If there are no actions by tomorrow, I'll make the assumption that you're all just waiting for the "turning" to expire and for the zombies to return. Not a bad strategy
He watched the avenues of approach carefully and cannily, ready for the return of the undead. He briefly ran an appraising eye over the others, aware they lacked his inborn immunity to flame, but Ryssa seemed to have had that well in hand. Now it was a question of patience, vigilance and readiness.
