OOC: An update on Roll20. They are operating in "cripple mode" right now but it shouldn't affect anyone in this game. Go ahead and move your pieces around.
But I have to add a note. It seems like you all forgot that in 5e you may move through ally squares as long as you end your move (or move segment) in an unoccupied square. You may not move through enemy squares (unless you have a special ability or magic item).
DM Chandan decided to use his turn to organize the others in the hallway and await the charging ghouls. The old man nudge Kriv to get in front, which the dragonborn took advantage of. As soon as he saw a ghoul he zapped it with a burst of fire. The ghoul pressed forward, even with smoke rising from it's smoldering skin. Before it could get much closer, Bern put an arrow into it's chest, further harming it, but not felling it. Davroar, seeing that the first of the undead was being cut down as it charged, focused instead on hindering one that was not being attacked yet. The druid/spider shot a web down at the ghoul and restrained it.
Then the ghouls poured back into the cavern and ran straight for food. They passed underneath the spiderman and headed straight for the threshhold of the chamber beyond which their dinner awaited.
OOC:
I assumed that Chandan is waiting for the fight to come to him, which is why he stayed put. Remember in the future that you can ready an action. State trigger and action when you do that. You only get to do a standard action, like any opportunity attack. In other words, your action is to create a reaction. In any case, they can't move that far so he'll go again at the top of the next round.
Davroar had to fire the web from long range. The range for web for a giant spider is 30/60. Note that on Roll20 you can click on the "i" button to look up anything, like the spider's stat blocks. It didn't matter. Your roll hit anyway, but it's a good reference. Notice the little web indicator on the token. Here's what the restrained: condition means:
Quote:
A restrained creature’s speed becomes 0, and it can’t benefit from any bonus to its speed.
Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature’s Attack rolls have disadvantage.
The creature has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws.
The ghouls did not have the ability to attack but they double-moved.
Calling upon the grace and power of the Morninglord, Ryssa made a gesture into the open area where the undead had begun to congregate and concentrated mightily on turning or, hopefully, killing the ghouls moving to attack her companions.
Ryssa once again calls upon the might of Lathander to ward away the evil undead. She holds forth her holy symbol and calls out to the Morninglord to ward against their onslaught. G2, G3, G5, G8, G9, G10, G11 Wis Save vs Turning Neptune rolled 1d20,1d20,1d20,1d20,1d20,1d20 and got 14, 7, 13, 15, 10, 20, 9
G3, G5, G9, G11 fail - all others are out of range or made their save. When it's their turn, they'll flee. Luminmorn is up, followed by Chandan at the top of the order.
DM The dragonborn takes a step to the left, opens his mouth and a bolt of lightning streaks at the ghouls in front of him. The one directly in his line of sight takes the full brunt of the damage and kills it, while the two in the back avoid the worst of the damage.
G#2 G#9 G#5 Dex save vs lightning Neptune rolled 1d20+2,1d20+2,1d20+2 and got 6, 18, 21
With the ghouls converging towards everyone below in the corridor, we will move a bit closer to spit his web again at one of the undamaged ghouls to help keep his friends from being overwhelmed.
Davroar Shoot web at ghoul G10 Dugan rolled 1d20+5 and got 14
DM Lurking above the fray, Davroar, in spider form, ensares a second ghoul in the webs. As this one is trapped, the one that was trapped previously breaks out. There is a wave of ghouls attacking and as they reach the party, they are met with Kriv's furious maul as he destroys the first ghoul he encounters.
Situated as they are in the hallway, the ghouls have little choice but to attack those in front and that means that they were forced to focus their attack the two dragonborn.
Of the three attacks, one claw struck Luminmorn. As his blood makes contact with undeath, he can feel the malignancy creep into his body.
OOC: Pande, Please make a Con save, 1d20+2, DC 10 to avoid paralysis
AJ, I am sure that you meant to kill Ghoul#2 not Ghoul#9. The token label was on the bottom and difficult to see. Also, Kriv was not in melee with Ghoul#9.
G9 attacks Lumi with claw Neptune rolled 1d20+4,2d4+2 and got 11, 6 - Miss G12 attacks Lumi with claw Neptune rolled 1d20+4,2d4+2 and got 20, 5 - Hit. Make DC 10 Con save. G3 attacks Kriv with claw Neptune rolled 1d20+4,2d4+2 and got 14, 7 - Miss
G4 Attempt to break out of web DC 12 Neptune rolled 1d20+3 and got 20
(Ghoul 2 was listed as dead on the status sheet before my post, meaning the next nearest active ghoul was ghoul 9. I posted 'sallied forth' to indicate advancing into contact, then 'resumed his place in the line' to indicate moving back into position)
