He moved over to block one of the doors. The little buggers wouldn't get out if he had a say in the matter. He then prepared himself to attack the first target he could see.
OOC: If he can use his axe to hit something when they appear, he will do that, if not Eldritch Blast. Unless he has to specify only one, in which case it has to be Eldritch Blast because it has more utility, if a worse to hit, and slightly less damage.
OOC: Interesting question. Answer in two parts. 1) You must choose one or the other, and as you say, Eldrich Blast has more utility. 2) You cast it now and hold onto it and ... why am I explaining? Here's the text:

DM Bern fires an arrow at the goblin next to Kriv and hits it square in the chest, killing it and, at the same time, taking away Kriv's easiest target. Davroar creates a ball of fire over one of the dining room tables, apparently not content with cold food. He re-roasts whatever food was left on the table, but if he was hoping to see goblins rise and run away in flames, he's disappointed. He does hear a blood-curdling death scream from under the table, but that goblin never got to get up. Those who can see that goblin, see a smoldering corpse. Jaliera lies in wait for the goblins to emerge and when they do, she lets loose an arrow that whizzes by a goblin's head. Kriv, with no goblins within arms reach, readies a fire bolt. When the goblin emerge, he lets the energy loose but the bolt of flame misses. While others are trying to thin the ranks of the goblins, Ryssa tries to make sure that the heroes all survive. She casts another healing spell on Davroar. OOC: The goblins still need to go. Pande, you didn't declare which action Luminmorn would prepare but to move the game along right now we'll go with his melee (hand-to-hand) weapon. In the future, you'll need to be specific and it can't be a choice. Yes, that's a complication for prepared actions. You can attack one of the goblins with your reaction.
Goblin-10 Dex save Neptune rolled 1d20+2 and got 11 vs Davroar 14. Fails - Dies.
The goblins HAVEN'T gone yet. They just appear for your readied actions. They'll go once I handle Luminmorn's action. Also, my continued apologies for taking this long. The wife had a long honey-do list for me this weekend!
The dragon born flicks his tongue as what humans would call a grin that he had prevented the goblins from escaping. He would try and keep them from getting away. Blocking the door with his shield and sword. He pushes one away and strikes the other with Talon.
24 to hit on #7 for 7pts. Luminmorn Attack Goblin #7 who just appeared Pandemonium rolled 1d20+6,1d8+4 and got 24, 7
OOC: So as a Shield Master Lumimorn has the ability to shove a nearby target 5 feet as a bonus action. Not sure he has one this round, not sure if he can shove a target other than the one he is attacking. But here is the thought. Shove 5 back 5 feet, and hit 7.
Regarding earlier, I thought I was specific, it was an if or else framework for the structure. Given what you told me the only option was the Eldritch Blast. But it matters not. He can go hand to hand, just wastes a possible attack. Thank you for letting him attack. In hand to hand he is much more effective.

Bonus actions are not allowed for readied actions - only one specific reaction. Yes, I was reveling in a very rare "kind DM" role. Don't expect that too often . Eldritch Blast would be cast with disadvantage in "close combat". Because your DM was in a good mood, Goblin #7 is dead.
DM A number of goblins emerge around Luminmorn and one of them dies instantly as the dragonborn cuts him down with his great axe. But that decision, to kill a goblin, gave the other goblins the chance they were looking for. One rushes for the door and opens it. His pals rush through it, evading him as they rush through the open door and disappear beyond it.
OOC: some tactical explanation is needed. To use his readied action requires Luminmorn had to use up his one and only reaction before he goes again. One goblin, the one that opened the door, used half his move to get to the door, his full action to open the door, the other half his move to run through and his bonus to hide. The other goblins did double moves and used their bonus action to hide (stealth). Annoying little buggers, eh?
Also, while the exact tactics weren't described in the module, this was the prescribed behavior once you killed off their leader.
I added the map. It depicts where the goblins fled to. And here's the status:
Chasing the goblins in their own home would be unwise, deems the monk, but so would dallying.
Chandan smiles as Ryssa heals their companions---What a nice young lady!---but is soon encouraging the party to form up and continue the assault cum rescue.
"Well fought." He says, "We must be quick now. Gundren's life might depend on it."
Once they are formed up, Chandan advances with the rest.
Hearing the goblins running away, he will get to his feet, keeping his flaming sphere going to ram it into any goblin still around. Turning to Ryssa, he says, "Thank you very much for saving me."

It seems that her opportunity has left the room. It seems they are going to give chase, maybe not the best option but she can't think of a better one just now. It does worry her that they are in a tower with lots of door, a lot of opportunity to come up from behind. So she takes her usual place, guarding the rear, bow at the ready.
"I'll cover the back, call me if you need any traps or doors checking."
She is relieved to see Davroar on his feet and not looking too bad and hears his words to Ryssa.
[ooc: I will note that if you're going to stop and chat, search, etc, that we will call an end to the melee (a round is 6 seconds). The next time you run into these goblins it will be a new encounter.]
He understood the necessity of healing. Certainly there were times when his scales had been harmed enough to require it, though The Great Gold Dragon usually protected him in those instances.
He waited patiently and would walk off into an ambush when they were ready.
