Paul Kantner, a founding member of Jefferson airplane (with Marty Balin) died yesterday at 74. While Balin is credited with being the driving force behind the formation of airplane in 1965, it was kantner who became the leader of the band through the late 60's early 70's. He would also be the principle architect of Jefferson Starship.
