"In that case we will all just take a break next time and let you handle it all", he said. It wasn't clear whether he was kidding or not.

"Hey! Looky here! I found a sword. It doesn't seem like anything special, but it's too big for me to use. Anyone want it? There's potions and some trinkets too!"

"I can use it but prefer two handed weapons." He didn't know the size. Anything could be big for a halfling.

"Well, you know I'm willing to handle it for you when you need me," she answered the suddenly acerbic ranger with a smile.

She listened to the others.

"I can carry it if it looks like a good one, but I have no experience with using one."

(OOC - Pande - Note that Long Swords have the "Versatile" property, which means they can be used 2 handed and if so do 1d10 damage instead of 1d8.)

"Why don't you carry it for now then, Luminmorn."

"You two need a hand getting that chest up", he asked the pair in the crevasse.

"My concern is that we night not come back this way. Lets see how much of 'burden' it is if we divide the weight between us. If the extra weight =is= too much, we can look for a place to hide it. But we should sort this out before we go looking for more trouble", he finished with a wink and a grin for Ryssa.

The cleric of Lathander cocked one eyebrow up, the other down and then shrugged.

"First they say look around, then they say don't..." she muttered, almost under her breath.

"Men..."

The comment from the cleric caused the dragonborn to breathe oddly making a chuffing sound. A guess would be that was his laugh.

"Let us see what we can carry. As long as it won't interfere with fighting I say we take it."

"Lingo, if you could take a quick check of the scroll tube for traps?" he asked, getting out a bag and starting to fill it with coins. He would then tie it to the rope and they could pull it up.

OOC: Forgot to post it. History check 1d20+5 = 11 lol

"I could probably fit everything into my backpack."

He grabs the scroll case, looks it over, opens it and looks to see what is inside.

Luminmorn looks at the sword, and draws it from it's sheath. Along it's length is has the word "Talon" enscribed and it's hilt is formed to look like a bird of prey with outstretched wings.

A memory of a story he heard once returns to him, and he realizes it is probably true considering the setting of both the area and the building you're in.

He once heard a story of a great Knight named Aldith Tresendar, who was called the "Black Hawk". Sir Aldith reputedly died fighting off the orcs that attacked during the invasion that also claimed Wave Echo Cave. He was supposed to have born a blade like this, likely exactly like this.

Lingo is able to open the scroll tube and removes a piece of parchment (OOC - Am at work without access to the books so I can look up who can read scrolls and how later. To cut to the chase....), upon which he finds an Augury spell enscribed.

"Looking does not involve wandering off, investigation does", he said with a shrug. "Perhaps when a friend of yours dies because you let your curiosity pull you from your friends you will better understand. I was hoping to save you from that pain."

He begins separating the items into piles to see how much weight that ends up being for each of them ...

[[Bern identify sword MikeD rolled d20 and got 17]]

(OOC - DM - Bern recalls the same story as Luminmorn)

He gives a short version of the story he remembers and mentions that he believes this might be that knight's sword. Then he straps it on and sets it for use.

"Sounds like the story I remember hearing", he said confirming Luminmorn's tale.

If you are taking money please add it to your sheet.

Luminmorn is taking the sword, "Talon".

Still need to know about the Potions and the Scroll, and then more importantly what are you doing/where are you going?
