In case you missed it - we are moving Friday and the phone company tells me I should have internet service at the new place by 8 PM on Monday (with a standard disclaimer that it might take more time than that razz )

So I will likely check in Friday morning and try to sneak on via phone and maybe a hideout at Starbucks but can't make any promises. I will, of course, sneak on when at the yob, but it too keeps me hopping, so...

Overheard on BBC 4

Two Adventurers have hired a warrior to help them against the Dragons. The Warrior notes that the Dragons will soon be upon them and he needs to prepare:

Adventurer 1: "Don't you mean we need to prepare?"

The Warrior: "No Sam, I always fight alone."

Adventurer 2: "Isn't he GREAT!"

Dragon 1: He wasn't very tasty.

Dragon 2: No. Pretty tough and stringy.

Dragon 1: And I have a lance stuck between my teeth again.

Dragon 2: Dude.

Without major actions to respond to the primary goal of the next post will be to get everyone back together again!

Makes sense. We wouldn't go anywhere when while we still expect them to return here. Nice quiet night, that's the ticket wink

Yep, I think this is the point where we say, "Gosh, it's been fun playing together. Let's do it again sometime."

Ok gang, we need to watch the posting rate again. I posted exactly 24 hours ago and since then both Art & Kel have posted four times each, everyone else has 1 or 2 posts as agreed.

This means that Cesare is standing like a lemon by the window not contributing to anything being said. Now he may not wish to say anything - but I would post that if so - but I should not be denied that opportunity.

Could I please ask for a little more care?

Thanks! smile

Although, really, I almost made that first short post a part of the last post instead of its own separate post.

Wish I had my spreadsheet with me, though I do agree Art and I did throw in more posts than the rest; my only defense is that it did make for a more realistic conversation. And I certainly will try to be more careful, although as Herder of the Cats, I will sometimes just have to post more frequently because it's ... well, less stressful to address each person rather than save it all up for one post.

Just so that everyone knows how Super OCD Woman is keeping track of posts:

A "round" begins when Wolf makes a Long Post (or in some cases, a series of Long Posts). That sets the clock for the 24-hour period of "sub-rounds" in which I track each person's posts. We are currently in the first "round" of this thread (the eighth round in total), and "sub-round" E. The time clicks over to a new "sub-round" at 14:39 EST each day in this "round"... and will continue to do so until Wolf's next Long Post, which sets up the next "round" where "sub-rounds" will begin in 24-hour increments after his last Long Post.

If this is confusing, at least be comforted in knowing Super OCD Woman understands it. wink And most of the time, people are doing what they're supposed to do.

I don't want to argue about specifics but if you =choose= to post a short post & then get a response, then your next post is a new post - so it is still four - two more than agreed previously. We did not agree a number of lines but a number of posts - and Cesare almost had a decision made without the opportunity to speak up. Might as well gag him or might as well not play...

I am not upset - just trying to create a situation that enables me to stay in the game. I am very sure that your guys would feel just the same in my shoes. smile

I agree with Gypsy. Unless you've removed yourself from the group conversation it isn't fair to others of us who cannot be here as frequently to overpost.

I realize that it may not seem realistic in terms of conversation, but it's not right and is upsetting what we've agreed to.

Gypsy, Raven... I understand, believe me. But I also understand the constraints the GM places on us. Very often, the fact that we can only post twice in a 24-hour period means that we can't actually have a Plan of Action in place by the time Long Post Day arrives... at which point Wolf is left only with the option of simply moving time forward. And that has never once turned out to be a good thing.

I don't think there's a perfect solution to the dilemma. If we find we do not have a Plan of Action in place by the weekend when Wolf does his Long Post because of our agreed-upon posting guidelines, I think it fair that the GM skip the Long Post and let us continue to formulate our plan. However, we need to be aware that if we do come up with a plan after whatever time slot Wolf had allocated to the Long Post, we will need to wait a week and essentially do nothing until the following weekend.

As I said, there is no perfect solution... we just need to do our best to balance posting rates with accomplishing things so the GM doesn't try to kill us.

(He denies that's his plan... but, frankly, I don't believe him. smile )

I am happy to continue with conversation/planning to fill in time until Wolf can post. This provides opportunity to get to know other characters better and to develop relationships, bonds, amongst us.

For example Lia and cesare are backfilling a private chat so as not to delay the game or inconvenience anyone else - but some of these chats are essential to character development. True for us all I think! smile

Good point. I'd like to get to know some more of the other people, but so far it hasn't worked very well.

Ok, and with that said, no decision can be made on who goes to fetch Samara until 14:49 EST. Thank you all very much for your input; Daxia has a lot to consider. In between bouts of fighting with the bloody scheduling software, I will attempt to write a coherent post.

I have created a basic spreadsheet on Google that will contain only the information for the current round:

HWD Current Round Post Times

I am not saying people can't post more in a 24 hour period - nor did Gypsy or anyone else.

I know what I'm asking for is EVERYONE gets to post 1-2 times before people post more in that period. There may be days everyone can get itn, post something, everyone else can, etc. But it's not fair if everyone doesn't get a post in before people continue. People can't contribute to plans when that is the case or share in the rp.

I'd like some more too. I was hoping after healing Darian that something might have happened, but Pam's off the grid wink

So if anyone needs a calmer outlook on life to counterbalance the insanity, come talk to Bekkah smile

Whenever its kosher, I have a further idea to expound on Cesare's.

(Note; not a complaint, just waiting until we have the reset)
