Amateur
Novice
Journeyman
Master
Expert
Skilled
Can perform in public without rotten veggies and fruit being thrown
What do those numbers mean? I know the higher then number the better but.... | | |

The number is, literally, your percent chance of doing something. For example, if you have a climbing skill of 50% it means you succeed 50% of the time ... if you have a climbing skill of 75% it means you succeed 75% of the time.
Very intuitive and very straightforward.
(technically its a roll with a d100, get below your skill level you succeed - low rolls are good rolls in Runequest).
Lets see ... below 25% and you are basically untrained. Between 25 and 50 you are learning, 50 to 75 and you are good at it, 75 to 90 and you are really good at it and 90 and above you may start to think about getting into a fight with Dandy, Barris or Rafe.
Just remember - a 75% chance of doing something is good. you succeed more tan you fail by a wide margin. But it also means that you still have a 25% chance of failing.
For example, in the combat between Celi and Mikal, Celi did surprisingly good the first round and Mikal - with much better combat stats - didn't. However, the dice went back to the more probable results the second round ...

What can I say? I'm letting Daxia take out my frustration with Mooch on the rotten NPC. And NPCs are a penny a fullhand.
