"Shall we continue along the beach?" she asked, starting off along the beach.

[OOC - what time of day is it - -is it light or dark?]

[ooc: Was holding to see if anyone else wanted to come down]

"At the very least see where these tracks lead." Selaim said pointing to the tracks.

"Did anyone mention a missing child?" Selaim continues pointing to the small human tracks.

[OOC: Yes there was a missing boy that was why the mom came and asked for the hero's help. ]

Selaim

[OOC: Thought they were investigating why the Petal had bite marks on him and the boy was claiming goblins were coming in his room. Wasn't the boy was being comforted by Cat earlier. Was there a second boy?]

((ooc Miales has that right. I did make an assumption with my post that Aeren was home, sorry if that was wrong, but you responded that he was comforted. The mom never said anything about a missing child. She was just upset about the dog having mysterious injuries and mentioned that her husband wasn't home.))

[OOC: Ok, that changes the narrative I had in my head, but that works just fine. I will make something else play into the mix. ]

There are small shod foot prints in the sand with the goblin clawed ones.

[OOC: Some sort of Survival roll, or Notice to follow or identify more about the tracks.]

She looked about the beach - seeing nothing of note.

Selaim

Selaim knels down beside the tracks and takes a closer look. Survival and tracking is not something she'd ever really tried doing. Wellt racking in an urban area was totally different. This was new to her. But she tried anyway.

I know there is a -2 because it is unskilled so think it is 3 total for the d4 and at 10 for wild die.

(OOC - The -2 applies to both dice but is not cumulative if you Ace, so a 5 and an 8. The easier way to do it is to just roll without any adjustments. Take your Aces and get to a final number and THEN apply the adjustment to that final number. In this case you rolled a 7 and a 10. 10 is the higher number. Now apply the -2 and you get 8.)

Selaim kneels just outside the line of tracks and sees that one set of goblin tracks leads away up the beach. Initially, there is a tiny bit of blood, though it seems to be dripping at the outside of the tracks, so likely from an appendage like an arm or claw. Mixed in with these prints is another set, small humanoid and shod-like a person might wear. They are light as if the person themselves is small, and they are spread a little bit, like the person is chasing the goblin, as near as one can tell from tracks alone.

She calls over to Coral and shows her the tracks and the blood then looks up to the top of the cliff. She waves her arms to get their attention.

Aendell

He's been looking down to keep an eye on the pair so he sees Selaim's wave and waves back.

Selaim

She yells up to him while waving her arms for them to come down.

"We found something! Come down!"

Aendell

He nods, turning to the others up top. "Selaim says they found something. I'm heading down." He makes double sure the rope is well tied to the house post and then uses it to climb down to the beach. If the rest wish to follow it is up to them.

[OOC: One Athletics roll will do it for anyone that wants to make it to the beach the hard way. Cat knows they could go around and avoid the roll completely, but it will take more time.]

Aendell climbs down and joins the pair on the beach.

Selaim

"We found these two sets tracks," she tells Aendell as soon as he joins them.

"One is definitely a goblin. Possibly wounded. The other looks like a child running. Did the boy chase the goblin? And did he know about the hole in his floor and chase the goblin? Gah too many questions." she says in frustration.

Aendell

He examines the tracks more closely. Do the second set of tracks look like a child, or do they look like a halfling or gnome? Is there anything else in the area that might be a clue to something?

Aendell is sure that they are a boy or girl and that they seem to be chasing the goblin. Several of the tracks are on top of the gobo's tracks. He can also confirm that they were made close to the same time due to the way the sea water obscures some of them here or there. It looks like a foot chase ensued.

Catalena

Cat trusted in the others to pursue whatever lead there was. In the meantime, she neither wanted to seal up the passageway in case Coral needed to come back nor leave it unguarded in case something else wanted to come back.
