"Shall I go again?" she asked

Selaim

"When I found the tunnel in the wardrobe, I had to move boards to find it. I think there is another entrance to them that all of us can use. Maybe on the side of the cliff that Aendell was looking at. If there is then all of us should be able to get down there." Selaim said as she looks up to Coral from where she was kneeling near Zach and the man.

Aendell

Now that the man was recovered safely and there is not immediate danger, he says, "Perhaps a few of us should go to the cliff side and see if we can find a cave or tunnel entrance? We can walk along the shore the long way and climb up from below or tie some rope and rappel down from above."

Catalena

"I think Coral could give it another go, with Petal, and Zachergillan and I as backup," Catalena offered. "Cliffs can be pretty dangerous. Folks don't usually try to climb them and the beach itself is treacherous."

((OOC Is this the north shore, Pande with Junk Beach? Or the west? I kind of assumed north as that's the steepest spot that matches your description.))

Coral

"Maybe I should take a rope this time in case the tunnel stops short of the ground."

Selaim

"The long way? So there is a way to get there without essentially jumping off the cliff or trying to go down a tunnel that is too small for two of us?" Selaim asked to the group.

"Do we have anything to anchor the rope to go down the cliff?

Aendell

"Depending on how much rope we have there are buildings nearby or we can put a stake in the ground. Worse comes to worse there are plenty of us to hold onto one end."

(OOC - Still waiting to hear whether walking around from the docks to the base of the cliff is doable or not. Steep doesn't really matter if you use climbing gear, rope & pitons etc. But going down is usually easier than going up.)

[OOC: This is a fast and furious game. Anchoring a rope is not fast nor furious. But climbing down a rope over a cliff is! Consider it set up however you wish. Just describe it and it is so.

To climb down, let's have an Athletics roll (and Wild Die) for anyone attempting the endeavor.]

Coral

"You guys use the rope and I'll go down the tunnel," she suggested.

Selaim

Selaim takes hold of the rope then backs up to the cliff face. She starts climbing down as she was taught on the streets.

Aendell

Taking a long length of rope he finds a corner post for the nearest house and ties one end around the post. Sliding the rope over his shoulders he hands the other end to Selaim and braces himself against a nearby tree stump. "Tug on the rope twice if you need to be pulled up. I will tug once to check on you every now and then. If everything is OK tug once back."

[OOC Coral is inside.]

Coral

Whilst he others are tending to the patient and fetching ropes, Coral runs off and fetches her ever-burning torch to take with her down the tunnel.

Then she casts smite, protection and deflection on herself

As the others get set up outside, Coral acquires a light source.

The groups set up a pincer movement strategy. Whether or not a hole in the ground under a wardrobe needed such advanced tactics remained to be seen.

Down the hole magically armored Coral goes again.

Over the cliff goes the other orphan girl. Was it a conspiracy? Get rid of the girls first? Or were they the most dangerous ones of the group?

Down the cliff face is actually pretty easy. It is rough surface with plenty of places to put feet and hands. The rope prevents any sudden changes in elevation.

As she goes down she can hear the roar of the waves. Being right above them rather than on a protected bluff, the noise of the crashing assaults her in regular intervals.

[OOC Intermediate post if anyone wants to do anything special before I get to the denouement.]

Cat once more sent Petal down with Coral. The Varisian entertainer herself remained at the top of the hole to assist Coral as need be.

Selaim

The climb down went easier than expected. Except for the sound of the waves. The endless sound of the crashing waves. At first she flinched at the sound but the further she went the waves became rhythmic.

So rhythmic she started contemplating bashing her head in the cliff face wall.

"Next time I do something this insane... earplugs." she mutters to no one in particular.

Selaim makes her way down to the loud waves, and sees that there is indeed a cave in the sea cliff. Along the waterline there are rocks that one could use to make their way to and from the cave. She can alight on the cave, the path, or in the sea, what does she do?

Coral makes her way downward. It is a long and ardous descent. The further she goes the more damp the earth becomes and the more like the sea the tunnel begins to smell. Eventually she too can hear the loud sounds of the crashing waves.

[OOC: In terms of timing, Selaim makes the exit of the tunnel long before Coral climbs all the way down. But as players you can meet up however you wish. Yes that tunnel is the one that goes up to the cabin. Let me know if they follow the rocks to the beach down below.]

Selaim

As she rappels down her eyes on on the cliff face and the rocks below. Not wanting to land directly in the cave she aims for the path. When her feet touch the rocks she immediately crouches and moves closer to the cliff wall looking around and trying to listen for any sign of goblins.

"There was nothing interesting in the tunnel," she commented

The beach shows little footprints in the sand. Something made it's way away from the cliff. Mixed in are the marks of small human tracks.

Catalena

Sensing through Petal that Coral has reached the end of the tunnel, Cat summoned the little dog to return to the house up the easier way than going down to the beach.

((OOC Assuming this took more than ten minutes, Cat will have spent 1 PP to re-up the spell until Petal is back. 5 PP remaining.

[OOC: That works for me.]
