Catalena happily dropped the platinum into her purse and ambled over to where Zak was... reading a book?! Her gleeful expression shifted to amused incredulity.
"Zachergillan," she ventured, tapping him on the shoulder. "I hate to tear you away from what I'm hoping is that beautiful young woman's secret diary of what she'd like to do tonight with you, and draw you back to the raging barnburner in your honor, but I have some exciting news."
She laughed good-naturedly and brightly, and when he was ready, told him of Lord Aldern Foxglove's offer of 50 Sails and the boar hunt on the morrow.
