Catalena

Catalena continued her dance, using the momentum of the pirouette into a series of tours jetés that carried her the remaining distance to the slack-jawed goblin, her final jump turn including a smooth unsheathing of her katana which she brought down upon him in a two-handed cross-cut.

Catalena Katana attack +2 Vulnerable, +1 Gang Up from Aendell
Vryx rolled d8+3,d6+3 and got 4, 5 (ooh, almost a bumble)
Attack: 5
Catalena Katana damage
Vryx rolled d6,d6+1 and got 4, 7
Catalena Katana damage Ace
Vryx rolled d6 and got 2
Damage: 13

Illusion ends, unless extended, at end of her turn in 10th round. This is round 9.
Spend two bennies to get back 10 Power Points, returning her to maximum.

The dogs howled in unison.

[OOC: Whoops, Seliam AS, should have been prior to Cat, go ahead and take her turn. I edited the post with the round's draw.]

(ooc Miales, go for the commando. I'd hoped by making him vulnerable you'd get a chance to use your sneak attack bonus damage, and I missed anyway)

Selaim

Selaim in catching up with the rest sees the Commando sorely injured by the combined attacks of Cat and Aendell. Out of the corner of her eye she sees the gnome battling the other goblin. But the Commando is closer. Leaping over the fallen war dog she brings her falcatas to bear from behind on the Commando attempting to open him up from shoulder to hip.

Selaim Main Falcata attack
Miales rolled d8,d6 and got 3, 5

Selaim Main Falcata attack (bennie) just in case
Miales rolled d8,d6 and got 8, 4

Selaim Main Falcata attack ace
Miales rolled d8 and got 5

Selaim Main Falcata damage
Miales rolled d6,d6 and got 3, 3

Selaim Main Raise
Miales rolled d6 and got 4

(ooc Miales, Selaim's turn is a bit better than that, I think.

As a rogue she gets sneak attack damage when target is Vulnerable. That's why I used Taunt. She also didn't count either the +2 Vulnerable or +2 Gang Up bonuses.

The first attack hit with a raise 13 above but should be 17 and the damage is 10 plus another 1d6 sneak attack.

The second attack would miss with a 5 above but should be 9 which would hit. That damage is 9 plus another 1d6 for sneak attack.)

So with that in mind...
I guess I add the following rolls to the damage

Selaim Sneak attack main
Miales rolled 1d6 and got 3

Selaim Sneak attack off hand
Miales rolled 1d6 and got 1

So the main damage should be 13

And Offhand is 10

The goblin command is struck twice in the back by the wily Selaim. Both weapons draw blood, the lacerations running freely. The creature falls to his knees and then onto his face, quite dead.

Goblin Commando takes two more wounds, totaling 3, he is gone.

Zak is up next, right before the Goblin Warchanter. Parry 5, Toughness 6, currently Shaken. He will unshake, at the start of his turn.

Zak makes another(unsuccessful) attack on the remaining goblin, unable t penetrate his armor.

So a 6 to hit, five to damage. (So not overcoming soak)

The warchanter recovers from the drastic blow he suffered a moment ago. He bares his teeth in a snarl at the group of foes who have hemmed him in. "Pay," he says simply. He brings his hands together and a thunderous clap echoes outward, rebounding off the nearby walls.

Vigor roll for those nearby the GWC (IE attacking him) or be stunned. Target is only a 4 or better. Don't forget your Wild Die!

Coral reacted to the next threat, and sprinted at the goblin mage and slashed at it.

Coral two desperate attacks(+4) on GWC [-4 for 3 actions incl sprint]

Coral attack goblin WC twice
Angrboða rolled d6,d6,d6,d6 and got 2, 1, 3, 5

Not great - try again ...

Coral attack goblin WC twice benni
Angrboða rolled d6,d6,d6,d6 and got 4, 5, 4, 4

damage +4 from smite -4 from desperate attack

Coral damage goblin WC
Angrboða rolled d4,d6 and got 3, 3

so a 6

Coral damage goblin WC 2nd attack - should it have hit
Angrboða rolled d4,d6 and got 1, 1

[OOC: For Coral, if I understand, her attacks are straight up. +4 wipes the -4, correct? If so, the 2nd attack on the first roll hits. That means just one benny is needed, which the first roll pair hits, so two hits. However, her hit pushes on Toughness, so she doesn't draw blood.

Aendell, however, does hit and does damage. There is insufficient damage to get a raise, so GWC is only Shaken.

I forgot to remove the Goblin Commando from the draw. Too bad he got a Red Joker. grin

Selaim AH
GWC QH
Zak QD
Catalena 7D
Aendell 8S
Coral 6D

Selaim is hot with Aces and up first!

In the New Round, anyone who was near the GWC when he did his spell has to make a Vigor check before they act or be stunned. I know that means Zak needs to. I don't think anyone else was close when he did his spell, right?]

[OOC: Catalena is up! Followed by Aendell and then Coral. Since the GWC can't act, go ahead and do them in whatever order you want. I will resolve them in the correct order. I doubt he will survive.]

Coral two desperate attacks(+4) on GWC [-2 for 2 actions - no sprint this time]

Coral Two attacks (desperate) at (+4-2=+2)
Angrboða rolled d6,d6,d6,d6 and got 1, 3, 6, 1

Coral Two attacks (desperate) at +2 ace
Angrboða rolled d6 and got 2

so a 5 for attack 1 and a 10 for attack 2

Damage [-4 for desperate, +4 for smite]

Coral Two attacks (desperate) damage 2nd with raise
Angrboða rolled d6,d4,d6,d4,d6 and got 2, 2, 2, 4, 6

Coral Two attacks (desperate) damage 2nd with raise aces
Angrboða rolled d4,d6 and got 1, 6

Coral Two attacks (desperate) damage 2nd with raise aces
Angrboða rolled d6 and got 6

Coral Two attacks (desperate) damage 2nd with raise aces
Angrboða rolled d6 and got 3

so a 4 for attack 1 - bounces
and a 28 for attack 2

Catalena

Catalena finished her dance performance with the demise of her audience at the blade-points of the elven rogue.

"Ah, a pitch-perfect accompaniment, Selaim," she remarked, in Elven, then continued in Common. "We should perform this duet again, should another suitable and deserving patron arise."

Then, turning to see the activity around the heretofore hidden goblin warchanter, she espied a friend in need.

"Zachergillan!" she cried, and then ran to his side to pull him from danger as he recovered.

Her dogs followed her and then continued down the alley the goblin had been hiding in, their barks fading away as they turned the corner and disappeared from view.

Illusion ends at end of her turn.

((ooc Wow, Stunned condition is brutal! No actions, Vulnerable, Distracted, and prone or kneeling.))

Aendell's weapon cuts the goblin down who collapses from the horrific wound left by the sword.

Not to be out done, Coral leaps upon the fallen foe, and literally shreds the body to pieces.

Again those that are close by get covered in black ichor.

The people of the town seem to have survived the assault, what will the heroes do?

GWC was Shaken when Aendell hit him, which offers 3 wounds. That will kill this one.
However we don't want to ignore the little ole 28.

Combat is officially over, all may recover and do a Golden Hour bind of wounds or healing as necessary. You have plenty of fallen foes.

Coral

She pulled in her claws, and brushed the larger pieces of gore off herself. But little of her red hair was actually visible, and both her arms were smeared in blood.

"I think I need to take a dip in the sea," she commented, "and get most of this off."

Selaim

She'd been so focused on the enemy in front it wasn't until the guard reminded her of the enemy to the side. She saw Zak. She was nearly stunned imobile knowing that she needed to act but saw that other members of the party were much closer to the asction. She started to run to them when Aendell cut the goblin down and Coral finished whatever was left.

(OOC: Barely noticed the initiative order and didn't realize that Selaim was lost in the mix again.)

Zak:

He shook his head as he slowly came back.

“… made insensible by a goblin. What am I coming to.”

He nods his thanks to those that moved in to help him.

He looks around.

“Again. I’m pretty sure this isn’t normal. Everything I hear about goblins, they’d only come in like this if they had overwhelming advantage.”

He starts moving around looking for people who needed patching up.

Catalena

"I agree," Catalena replied to Zak, resheathing her katana, unbloodied in the second skirmish. "Insane little buggers were seemingly on a suicide mission here. While I wouldn't put it past them to die for the sake of a little havoc, they're generally selfish and obstreperous. So why did they do it? I wonder what tribe they are from?"

Catalena headed back alongside Zak to continue to help with the fires but took her time looking over the goblins' garb and accoutrements to see if she recognized any of the local goblin tribes' markings.

Catalena Common Knowledge - local Goblin tribes
Vryx rolled d6,d6 and got 5, 6
Catalena Common Knowledge - local Goblin tribes Ace
Vryx rolled d6 and got 2
Common Knowledge: 8
Hope it's ok I went ahead and rolled. I won't be avail a lot this evening or weekend.

((OOC Sorry Miales, I didn't double-check the initiative myself to see you hadn't taken your turn yet. We'll get it all smoother eventually.))

Catalena knows for a fact that in her history, there have never been any incursions like this. This is further confirmed that she sees a tree tattoo on some, a scar that looks like a road on others, and a red burn mark on even more. As she looks around, there are at least five different tribes of goblins that she can count quickly.

Without the mayhem of the goblins, the townspeople are beginning to make headway against the fires in this little wooden seaside village. With some help from the heroes, which the townspeople are now thanking them and calling them heroes, the fires are able to be put out.

It takes some time, and the sun is falling towards the horizon when it is done.

Both the Sheriff and the Mayor make personal appearances to say a very personal and appreciative thank you to each hero.

One man whom Aendell saved is dressed in dirty blue finery. "Come to the Rusty Dragon tonight, and I will buy you all a round for saving my life!" He said in a somewhat shakey voice.
