In what is a devastating blow, the Paladin channels divine fury into his weapon and strikes with deadly accuracy. To everyone's surprise with what must be a mortal wound, the Warchanter continues to stand, though it is clear he is under duress and only calls for aid.

Seliam continues her push to clear the square of the little mayhem makers, and two more fall to her wicked blades.

Catalena gives a serious effort, and perspiration rolls off of her forehead. Yet she is able to put her hands on both guards, and it is immediately clear that they have been brought back from the brink of death. They will both live baring any other complications, like a burning wagon falling on them or something.

[OOC: The golden hour/magical hour is the entire hour, so this counts most definitely.

Zak is up!

Belor and two guards are on deck.]

Zak makes his way towards Catalena, taking a stab at any nearby goblins along the way. Perhaps, if needed, he can chip in on her healing. And maybe even get some swords back into the fight.

Zak skewers another of the little green foes as he casually walks by.

Even though there remain but three little goblins and one dying Warchanter they do not give up.

The Sheriff looks battle ready covered in black ichor. Stepping up he slices the head from another half-height green foe.

The guards thank Catalena for her assistance, and begin to rally.

The other two guards fight a guarding action for the three of them and keep the goblins from coming any closer.

Taking care to only target the goblins, she cast havoc at the group of three, landing the centre of the whirlwind such than one would be grow in her direction.

The black ichor from earlier dripped in her eyes and her slashing claws went wide of their mark.

I had planned to do something slightly different, but would have made no difference

The only goblin still up is the Warchanter, and barely.

The group can hear mayhem still happening in the little seaside town.

The square may be mostly clear, but the danger is far from over.

The cards for the next round are:

I suspect Catalena, Belor, and Aendell will finish the immediate threat.

Catalena

Catalena called back to the recovering guards, "I expect ale and lots of it!" as she picked up her katana again and headed toward the goblins entangled with her dogs. She passed Zak on the way and said, "Zachergillan, let's deal with these before the dogs go back to the Plane of Slobber."

The thought of getting between Aendell and his chosen enemy felt disrespectful, but more so, made a poor epic poem, so she charged through the dogs as they parted in front of her in choreographic synchronicity that seemed like random motion. Hoping that the distraction of fighting the dogs might lower the goblins' defenses, she attempted to strike at more than one.

Catalena will spend the 1 Power Point to extend the dog illusion. Better safe than sorry. Power Points now down to 1. Illusion ends, unless extended, at end of her turn in 10th round. This is round 5.

Catalena has to work extra hard, pulling upon her spiritual resources, but she does manage to hit two goblins. Both of which collapse from their wounds.

The illusionary dogs continue to harass the little green foes, only making them more furious by the moment.

The Sheriff moved to assist with the distracted goblins, striking one down by stabbing it in the leg.


Sheriff offers at least a +1 Gang up Bonus, and others may add to this and to their own attacks as they concentrate on one foe.

Aendell succeeds and strikes the Warchanter down. When the paladin pulls his blade from the creature the ichor is green-ish purple. Something was definitely different about this creature.

Coral turns to the goblins and joins the gang up on them. Adding her attacks to the sheriff's and Catalena's, allows both of her attacks to hit. Two more of the green foes fall to her smoking claws.

The remaining three goblins choose to attack the little girl as she seems the most vulnerable. Little do they know. They are experts at flailing, and completely miss her.

Seeing the goblins going for the little girl, Zak almost snarls and lunges towards the nearest goblin, meaning to end him.

[OOC: Zak and Seliam each nick a goblin, though one is left as Coral's action comes up, if you wish to change your character's action. If not, I don't need to draw cards for this round, as the last goblin will be taken by someone, which anyone can write up.]

Assuming the last goblin is dispatched the group look around at the square. Carnage lies everywhere, wagons and buildings burning. Already a few of the locals are gathering water and trying to douse some of the flames.

[OOC: What do you do? And note, your benny counts are still valid, don't worry about them going away just this second.]

Coral

She watched one of the guards finish off the final goblin, and relaxed enought to draw in her claws.
She stayed where she stood and slowly looked around for more trouble. It seemed such a purposeless attack, that she felt that there must be something else.

She knew she looked a sight, her dress and her head and arms covered in ichor.

Zak

“Heads up people. Goblins are basically cowards, I doubt they got this idea on their own and I doubt we’re done with the trouble.”

He checks on coral.

“Most of that is theirs, right? You good?”

Aendell

Having dispatched the Warchanter, he turns to deal with more foes only to see the last Goblin being taken care of by the guards. He breathes a sigh of relief, but nods at Zak's observation. Looking around to check on the others he finds Selaim near by and he offers her a small smile. "Well done Selaim. As much as you complain about practice, I see you take it to heart."

Pausing a moment to look her up and down, he notes none of the blood on her seems to be hers, and with another nod he looks to see if there are any wounded towns people who need his help.

Coral

She ran her stubby fingers over her shoulders, neck and arms, searching for cuts and nicks, smearing the ichor as she did.

"I think that all of it is theirs," she replied to Zak. "I don't think any ... Oh wait."

She slowed her fingers on one arm and a shoulder.
"They broke my skin in two places," she added, with a smile that, combined with her face-paint and dripping ichor, just made her look more ferral, "but there's no bleeding."

Zak:

“Remind me, Coral, never to invoke your ire. It seems to not be a healthy occupation.’

He grins.

‘You’ve come a long way.”

Coral

"But they attacked me ..." she replied sweetly to Zak, with an attempt at her usual 'innocent little girl' look that was seriously undermined by the gore that she was covered in.

With a sparkle in her eyes, she added, "My old master would have been proud."

Catalena

Catalena wiped her blade on the ragged cloak of a dead goblin and set the dogs to investigating and barking at dark nooks and crannies. Maybe if there were still foes hiding from view, they'd get spooked enough to reveal themselves.

Then she turned back to help extinguish the flames at the carts. Poor Mr. Pont's linens, including the lengths she'd already paid for had taken damage. But even her silk would have to wait as she first made sure that any injured people in the square were out of mortal danger.

Coral

"Do you think, Zak," Coral asked, "that these goblins might have been a distraction for something else going on somewhere else in the town?"

Zak:

“If they were, they would be a rather good one, wouldn’t they? It’s like a dropped plate shattering in the kitchen, everyone looks for the source of the noise and no longer looks at anything else. It’s how the extra biscuits got taken at breakfast back in the orphanage in my day. Goblins in the festival are excellent in that regard. I’d say it’s likely most of the guard is here. While the guard is here doing their due duty protecting the citizens, what is going unguarded?”

He still was looking around for any sign of trouble or unattended wounded while talking.

Selaim

With the fighting done she looks around to find her bearing. Aendell off to check on the wounded. She watches him go as she cleans her weapons off on a bit of cloth. Still looking around She spies Zak's green head and then Coral. Then rushes over.

"Are you alright?" she asks her friend looking her over for wounds. Glancing at Zak after satisfying herself that Coral was fine.

"See anything else?" she asks the gnome her hands going back to her falcatas.
