Nep was telling me I should post for Sindar, your wonderful playing not withstanding. However, I asked him, and I can ask here.

Has Sindar drank his water breathing potion?

I completely think the groin spearing hooligan needs to die!

Gah! I'm sorry, I already played the move based on your post. And yes, he drank his potion last turn.

And I hope you're pleased with the results.

LOL, you read my mind!

That was exactly what I would have done, and you wrote it better!

I can go back to prepping all the carp I have been trying to get done.

I was going to offer you the chance to keep the Roll20 rolls from your character sheet and pose differently. wink

First serving of fried seafood at the Yartar Sewer Seafood Bistro.

My dice luck has got to run out soon, I'll make sure you get a chance to resume next time around!

Well ... I, for one, would welcome your character ... assuming he/she was 'compatible' with the group <weg>

Maybe I'll ask Nep if I can make one of the NPCs in the next phase I'm helping create a PC that can join up. Could the party stand two bards? We could sing duets...

Also as I understand the disadvantage for range against adjacent target is for weapons but not for spells.

OK, I see it now. Eldritch blast specifies "ranged attack" in the description. I'm rather annoyed that Roll20 automatically picked melee spell attack. That's gotta be a bug.

Is this the right spot to complain that according to geometry the diagonal is 7.07 feet which is further away than 5? wink

You may always feel free to complain about the geometry here in the OOC: thread. It's good to vent, even if it won't get you anywhere.

Games that aren't played on hex grids suck.

There, I said it.

If you want to avoid taking Disadvantage you can move away 1 square first, although that would give an Opportunity Attack of course.

...or use Vicious Mockery, which while it's a range cantrip, it requires a saving throw and that isn't done with any advantage. I rule that it works under water. "Blloobllop blo bllooo ooobblob!"

I know we are playing a higher level than in LMP but is it just me or is Arus way more powerful than Chandan?

Nep, Zeim, is that a paladin vs monk thing in 5e? I recall reading that a Four Elements monk was probably the weakest subclass for monk but Arus seems leagues ahead in a fight and afaik Conqueror paladin isn't even considered the most powerful subclass. Would you say monks are on the weaker end of the spectrum in 5e?

Yes. PHB Monk and PHB Ranger are generally considered two of the weaker classes. They tweaked Ranger to bump it up and I think they did now for Monk too.

Just as an FYI, based on conversations at Gencon those who like to Min-Max seemed to agree one of the best was a Multi-class Paladin/Warlock.

I saw they added a much more powerful subclass in Tasha's (Astral Self) but nowt for existing monk subclasses.

Yeah, Luminmorn was a Paladin/Warlock mix.

Oh and Aqua, if Nep allows you to do so, once I get my junk together again... I could bring back Lumi and you could take over Sindar, that would be fine with me, as long as I am not going to cramp Nem's style?

...Well...., since Zhu is close to dropping..., Jaliera has vanished, and Bern is charmed, um, right now would be a fantastic time for Lumi to make a dramatic appearance <g>!

You're assuming that Sindar survives this encounter, Pande. wink

Nope!

I think that Pande, you keep playing Sindar and let's make that cut-over happen now.

AquaDyne is going to DM shortly after this encounter. I felt that letting him run this encounter as his first toe-dip into DMing was cruel. This is about as complicated an encounter as there can be.
