As Kriv explains how the levers worked, had they known, they could have flooded the sewer to help Davroar rise from the bottom of the well. Otherwise, there was not much use for the mechanics of the room.

The water rising also has a lot more visibility than the muck they were digging through. Had they known, seeing things below the surface or cleaning things might also have been useful. But then she reminds herself that she already has a nice rapier herself but relies much more on her bow in preference. Davroar is correct. The job is not yet done. The mystery has not been solved. There seems to be only one place to go and that would be to try and follow the aquatic guardians that had fled. Kriv starts to turn the valves and pull the levers. He takes care to do so slowly. The sound of water flowing starts. His experiment indicates that there is so much sewage that flushing is a futile effort. This is what a sewer is. The added water simply dilutes the muck.

Dilution was the aim and intention, a reduced risk even if not an eliminated one. He got it as good as it would seem to get before restoring the controls to their off positions. | | |
