Zeim, apologies. I had one enemy token on the wrong Roll20 layer, KT-3. Zeim, if you want to change your target to KT-3, you can, but (hint) it's got +7 to AC right now. The blue color means it's under water and under the bridge. I give it 75% cover and it's the one that has the shimmering nimbus around it (Shield of Faith). I'll keep KT-2 on the board until you answer.

I think you may have KT-2 and KT-3 mixed up on your text. The one I saw as KT-2 in Roll20 was the one next to the Well. But stick with the unprotected one anyway, whichever it is.)

Gypsy, to answer your OOC question, you're just in time for your turn! Jaliera goes. Saves, etc. happen now.

I don't understand why he wouldn't have thrown the coin instead. OOC: Because Glasstaff is one of his bonded weapons. If he missed, or if one of the kuo-toa tries to grab it, or somewhere else needs the light, one bonus action is all it takes to recall it directly to hand. The coin, on the other hand, is a mundane object and a much smaller one, easily lost, needing to be actively picked up in physical reach. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 | ood: Nifty. You'll decide when you trigger a roll again. Don't forget to place Whisper. Note that much of the area is Dark and that Davroar is not in sight.
Speaking of which, Davroar is up.

Standing in the knee deep water, he will cast his spell flaming sphere some 40 feet above his head and adjusting when he sees it forming for it to be hovering directly over the opening he fell down. He will keep his concentration on it and not move the sphere beyond his line of sight in order to keep any of those fishy face guys from attacking him.
Hopefully at the same time it will give the others an idea where he is. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 76,635 Likes: 59 Wizop Administrator | Wizop Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 76,635 Likes: 59 | Whisper can ride on her shoulder. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,985 Likes: 1 | DMFar away, on the other side of the pool, away from most of the party, a flaming sphere appears on the platform. It appears on the same spot where the body of the kuo-tao that Zhu had just killed with a bolt of fire. The sphere doesn't appear to be a feature of Zhu's spell, but rather the manifestation of a new spell. Unlike a fireball, the sphere does not disappear. It stays right there. That illuminates much of the rest of the room. Deep down in the hole, Davroar can finally see. When he looks at the sides of the walls, he sees that in addition to being very slippery, there are no hand-holds. His feet are ankle deep in disgusting water. The tiny holes just above the water level are clearly for drainage. He had seen a flash of light (Zhu's fire bolt) just before he created his flaming sphere. The creature that had captured him and pushed him down here was not to be seen. He does not see a way out. OOC: The sphere needs to stay on the ground (it's not airborne) so it's 30' up not 40'. It sheds light like a torch (20 bright/20 dim). The boxed text for Davroar's situation, just to show you what you're dealing with:
These two large drainage pipes are safeguards to prevent the sewers from overflowing. If a creature is pushed into one of these drainage pipes, it falls 30 feet into the water below, taking 3d6 damage as it falls. The sides of the pipes are slippery and can only be scaled with magic such as spider climb or using a rope secured above (DC 10 Athletics (Strength) check). Sindar is up. Bern goes after him.

Sindar tossed twin bolts of Eldritch energy at the nearby foe (KT-3). The half-elf finished crossing the bridge and stopped behind the Triton (Cautious Move, no save needed).

The clever creature used the footbridge as cover and the extra protection offered by the priest of his kind enabled him to avoid the harm that those well placed bolts might have caused. OOC: You need an adjusted 20 to hit him. AC 13 + 5 for 75% cover + 2 for shield of faith.
As for Bern, who is up. Yes. He's seen the manifestation of this spell before from Davroar. Also, I've gotten dynamic lighting set up (there's a learning curve). Anyhow, view from Bern's perspective vs the view from Sindar's. Sindar has darkvision 120. Bern can only see by the light emitted from Kriv's staff, Kriv's coin in hand and now the flaming sphere. Note that the area between the flaming sphere and glasstaff is dimly lit.

There was only one target visible at the moment. He raised his bow and fired.

DM
With barely any light, and the target hiding under a footbridge, in the water, Bern took aim at the submerged foe and let loose his arrow. The arrow slid into the water with nary a splash. Bern could not tell if it was hit right away, but in the light shining from Kriv's staff he saw a dark red dot appear in the water. The dot grew and spread quickly. The ranger's arrow had found it's target and the target suffered a dangerous wound.
OOC continued... HOWEVER, what I need is another 1d8 rolled to ADD to the damage. That was a CRIT!!!! Let's see how bad that wound really was!
Kriv is up and Arus is warming up in the bullpen.

Advancing next to Zhu, Kriv watched dispassionately as the blood in the water spread, looking for an opportune moment to unleash a fire bolt, the conditions subpar for accuracy
