Yeah, I know. But I made it easy for them. Guess what's inside the scroll case. And don't forget that they found a set of boots that they didn't look at either.
The Dragonborn noble exhaled a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding, scrutinising the various completed works. The armour drew his attention most strongly, and he ran a gold-scaled hand over the breastplate motif.
"It's almost as if it were meant to be. I'm inclined to wear this regardless."
He opened up the scroll tube with the reverent care of a scholar and historian.
DM Kriv opens the scroll case and inside are some scrolls with magic spells inscribed on vellum. The spells are arcane and the Eldritch Knight easily deciphers the arcane runes. There are four separate spells:
She moves a little closer and reads over Kriv's arm as his shoulders are significantly above her. She smiles.
"Oh they would be very useful. I could get Whisper back with the Find Familiar spell and she could be very useful. And that Identify! Be good to learn it properly though."
She makes no move to take the scroll though. She knows that Kriv uses spells too.
"Divination is not a branch of the Art within my specialities, it would be a considerable length of time before I could adjust my repertoire. Learning it properly would require a commitment to the Art that neither of us have truly made, given our other necessary talents and training."
He carefully rerolled the scroll, placed it gently back in the case and handed it to her.
"Still, it seems you would have better use of these at least in the short and medium term."
Well of course Kriv would be. He is so sure about everything. She envies that confidence and wonders if she will ever have it.
"Well thank you."
She blushes slightly but takes the scroll case and tucks it away safely.
"I don't think I can cast the familiar spell here. I need to be outside. Maybe later.."
She almost forgets.
"Oh and the magical flames. I think they were used to make items magical but the power here has diminished over the years. I think it could still work but not in a permanent way. Might be worth exposing some weapons to the flame before leaving here."
DM Chandan sticks his spear in the green flame and as he does, the flame engulfs it. He holds it there for a minute and when he finally pulls it out, the rust falls off of the head like dust and it gleams like the day it was forged.
ooc: For the remainder of the adventure the spear is +1
Also, casting of Find Familiar does NOT have to be performed outside since it summons a spirit that takes the animal form that you choose. Jaliera may safely cast the spell now or at any time.
The Dragonborn's maul was engulfed by the green flames, just as Chandan's spear was. After a minute, when he pulls it out, the head looks cleaner than ever before.
OOC: Same. It's +1 for the balance of the adventure. Everyone can just tell me what they're dipping. I'll allow for a 20 arrows, if that's how you roll
He has his spell to enchant his staff whenever he needs to, so the magical flames are not much interest to him for that. With the others doing a good job in finding things, his attempt to find anything useful or interesting turns out to be a waste of time.
Davroar Perception check Dugan rolled 1d20+4 and got 5
"So, enchantments at least for the time being for our weapons. If Gundren is successful, perhaps this place will be restored. For now, the disposition of the other magical items."
He picked up the dragon-sigiled breastplate and the mace.
"Also, don't forget the axe back there. I would lay claim to this armor. Anyone else capable with a mace?"
(OOC - There's a DM decision here. If you dip your bow into the flames it should become a +1 bow, which should mean all arrows fired from it are +1 to hit and do +1 damage, bypassing the 20 arrow limitation. DM call of course. )
DM Everyone finds time to look around the area carefully. That includes looking behind the door to the east of the northern wall. There's a small side chamber which appears to be a separate work space. You imagine that it's where items which were being prepared for enchantment were polished, lacquered, and otherwise finished. Like the main workshop, it's almost completely destroyed.
OOC: As Zeim said, any weapon dipped becomes +1. And yes, +1 arrows shot out of a +1 bow are +2! Jeremy Crawford (D&D 5e lead designer) on weapon and ammo stacking. Jaliera will need some time to summon Whisper, so I assume that you'll all take a short rest. If you need/want to use healing dice, do so.

"I thank you, my friend," the cleric said with a nod to the old monk.
Ryssa held the mace in her right hand and swung it right and left, testing the heft and feel of the weapon. After a moment, she nodded slightly as if to herself and took a moment to dip her bow in the light.
The shiny brass mace seemed to be made for her grip and looked as if it were made by the Morninglord himself. That made her think of its possible nature.
"Bring forth the Light of My Lord!" she said intently and the mace glowed brilliantly and Ryssa smiled brightly herself.
