Or tomorrow. As you said, I shall hope for the best. I watched helpless from a distance as it was too late when she decided to 'freak out' over her realization of sudden confinement and then watch as my directv receiver flipped up in the air and landed upside down on the hard floor. The receiver decided it wasn't going to work anymore in protest of the poor treatment it received. fun times. I will let the GM recount his story if he wishes, just thought it notable to mention. | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 5,669 Member | OP Member Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 5,669 | I'd like to truly thank Art for his time and travel upon The Heartwood.
He and Kadri have participated in all of the World Changing events that have occurred ever since the opening in Cragside.

I've responded to those I could this week and I suspect with the holidays here things will be slow. I can certainly understand why Exeter/Pietro may be at a loss; and for that I do apologize. He's in an odd place with Lady Bekkah - who we need to hear from about her impending courtship. On one hand I can understand the warrior's frustration. On the other hand, between the two of them - both Bekkah and Pietro - they are succeeding very well in what they were supposed to do. Tie up the Prince's force for as long as they can. I also understand Kel's position and will respond when her bullet points become in-character actions. Cesare has a very interesting question to answer ... but there's no rush a the moment. The separate threads will be coming to a point where they will weave back together; how well that happens is up to you folks | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 7,944 Sower of Insanity Member | Sower of Insanity Member Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 7,944 | I also understand Kel's position and will respond when her bullet points become in-character actions. You probably meant "... if her bullet points..." rather than "... when her bullet points..." Right? Just saying that you might have to go with the bullet points because trying to force creativity usually has unpleasant consequences. I should go make some fractal art. I managed to back Pietro into a corner where he cannot fail but to see himself as a complete failure and a disgrace to his position as a Squire of Lord Rames. | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 5,669 Member | OP Member Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 5,669 | Hi folks! I was thinking that it would be nice to hold for a bit, until Phoenix is feeling better

Hopefully it will only be Saturday.

On a sunday... | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 5,669 Member | OP Member Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 5,669 | yup real work on a Sunday ... some folks need to learn simples things.
a) When you have to choose between deciding a paint color and making sure your project has doors and frames ... CHOOSE DOORS AND FRAMES
b) that you can't reference schedules or anything else that ISN'T IN THE SET.
(this goes right along with along with "Don't use abbreviations that aren't in the abbreviation list" and "don't use the same abbreviation for TWO DIFFERENT things").
c) when someone spends weeks documenting the office Millwork system, which in turn took years to develop and actually WORKS ... you USE it.
d) that there is something fundamentally wrong with your drawing set when 50% of a sheet is WHITE
e) Kelly says I need a copy editor? She would commit homicide after reading drawing notes. It would be justifiable.
f) You know those nifty things that close a door behind you. It's called a closer. They have so many options and flavors it's a whole bloody speciality to get right. So you can tell the Contractor they - since they are ordering it and installing it - are responsible for getting one that that works right OR you can spend an hour and give them your best guess at a catalog number. Fine. Who then gets blamed and pays for it when something goes wrong? Worried they will get it wrong? That's what shop drawings are for. Don't take responsibility for something the Contractor should be responsible for.
g) Saying "oh I was going to fix that in the addendum" translates to "I screwed up my deadline but I don't care."
h) Make sure your bloody arrowhead points to the right thing.
i) Don't dimension to something that has an indeterminate location.
j) Don't try and use drawing notes to replace specifications. Whatever you leave out for brevity and convenience you'll end up paying the contractor an extra for.
do I need to go on?

Maybe get some play in before the sunday post... who knows, maybe the GM has a small wednesday post for us... Sometimes I wonder if he's the only person in the firm who knows how to do the architect thing. <smh> I'd say the same thing to him that I'm always saying to ividia (New job, blah blah blah) if I thought it would do any good. (It won't.)

And once again you have shown how Player Actions can change the very face of the World. Once folks rest up at Home we will be continuing our explorations - I have heard of a desire for a trip up the Flowered Path, which would be of interest to all, including both Rhoni (for different reasons) and of course Minstrel and Healer.
Pietro, however, will be traveling on to Talesan's Village.
After long conversation we have come to the conclusion that, by its very nature the Heartwood and Pietro were not a good mix. It was a matter of conflicting play-styles and their consequences. Over the length and breath of the quest this created several recurring issues and associated misunderstandings.
I have always believed that differing manners of play are never necessarily a bad thing – and with complete sincerity I believe this is why there are many, many types of games out there and that there is no better or worse, just different.
Thus Pietro will be traveling to the Cathedral on his own and I wish Exeter best of luck with his play elsewhere.

that's the one problem with having native characters who are real people with minds and wants and dreams of their own ...
they have wants and dreams of their own that surprise the dickens out of their creator! | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 24,742 Likes: 10 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 24,742 Likes: 10 | I read somewhere that wolf may be delayed by an rl auto intrusion.

No one was hurt and the building was way tougher than the car. But not my idea of how to spend an afternoon.
And, happily, completely the driver's fault. | | |
