We can party while he's sleeping! He can't hear us. <smile> <<< see a smile.
That is, Nivek's post could be seen to bring folks together not far from the Mill, which also is close to the largest road going away placing everyone in near enough vicinity to find each other and overhear each other if they wish.
For future reference, like Phoenix, if a discrepancy arises I tend to prefer inclusive rather than exclusive solutions!
and I was not napping ... I was just not at the machine! It happens .. so you'll just have to be patient sometimes.

I still think partying is a good idea. I'll even leave the Stargate... ahh... well, elsewhere. They are very primitive crafts, akin to a simple life raft. The most rudimentary version takes a big circle of cloth, turns and brings them inward and down, creating a tube around the edge of the circle. The tube is stuffed with leaves and grass, forming a ‘donut’ with a bottom. This is the life raft version.
The more sophisticated (and modern) version is very similar; one constructs an open-weave basket in the shape of a shallow dish, then covers the bottom of the basket with the leather/oil cloth.
They aren’t easy to control, but all you have to do is make it to Home. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 46,267 Member | Member Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 46,267 | Now if we can figure out just what and where Home is... | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 24,742 Likes: 10 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 24,742 Likes: 10 | hey- it's all good- Exeter and I are new to the game. We dont need to fight. It's a game. It's a game i am enjoying quite a good deal. But i know people can be frustrated with each other.
We all develop expectations and when things rub against those expectations we find ourselves in need of venting. But then our venting rubs others and they too want to vent. And things get said or typed we might regret in our heart of hearts (when time passes and feelings cool).
Please remember that when posting in character especially... but OOC is often tbe avenue for us to share our thoughts feelings and frustrations. Might i suggest talking with the GM in private first?
And sometimes we just have to bite on a bullet and try to find common ground to nudge our friends (and that is what we are here) to remember/look up details previously mentioned OR to nudge them gently when the frustrations get the better of our true kind hearts.
I want to play and tell my part of a story and experience the larger story together with the rest of you. We need to be tolerant and remember everyone has feelings and everyone plays differently.
We also need to bear in mind that there are real life stresses that are less forgiving on us and build stress that a place like this should lessen... not heighten... but we have to work at that together to make it work. We need to be forgiving and willing to help each other.
Please forgive the typos... i am on my cell phone and i am not much of a text typer. But I felt i needed to get this message up quickly. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 46,267 Member | Member Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 46,267 | Now I stand reminded and know where Home is... The Holidays are very hard for some of us and thus a stressful time is even more so.
I think I should be clear - when I said "you know who to talk to" I meant Dommi, not me!
I think we should all take a breath, shake out the dust and remember we are all here to enjoy the exploration of a very different world.
You are in a place where you don't have enough information to make a strategy on how to enter the mines. I understand that. I (through Dommi) am trying to help you get to that spot. Continuing to request strategy information at this point is just going to be frustrating.
Somewhere in the recent set of posts someone made an excellent list of "things you need to know". They are great questions ... the party simply lacks the resources to answer them - in terms of their knowledge and the knowledge of the native characters with them. I would recommend looking at those questions and not expect an answer, per se, but ask two questions 'how are we going to find out those answers' and 'what can I do to help' and then take action to do so.
You are already embarking on step one of this - I can use Pietro's statement (thank you) as an indication of an action to build what you need to get to Home, which is a much better staging point (a base camp per se) than Waverider's Watch. Keiko's direct question to Tomomi will get you a simple map to start with.

I’d like to be able to say I’ll manage to get a post written for HWD before the GM does, but if I said that I could be lying. Who knows? Anything is possible, right? Today's Post is like a public service ad - it supplements the posting schedule to answer some very interesting and good questions that were asked and pushes folks towards their actions of the day. There will be a Sunday Post moving things on.
Thus it is not imperative to answer this one, unless of course you have another question or a follow up question for the native characters.
It is true Bekkah, Lyric and Kadri have no specific tasks coming up for today but this is the one rare case where this is fine - unless you want to add a quick post giving a different task we can presume they are helping with the makeshift boat building.

The"chalky cliffs" range from 5 feet to 15 feet high, varying along the length in random changes. Thus they are more like tall river banks and not like cliffs found in Dover, Navarone or Montaukettston.
The waterfall is about 25 feet high.

while it is an interesting proposition, Dommi was only being rhetorical!

Um. Well, I was kind of looking at the situation as Tomomi dragging Lyric and Keiko off without Keiko having a chance to say anything... or that anything she might have said got preempted by Guardian Soft. Go forth and post. There's all week to chat ("What you said before..." kind of thing). Assuming work cooperates, that is. These are the dark times of the soul, and I have no interest in trying to write something joyful for this character. for Megan and Mackenzie Let Me Be the Music Seasons come and seasons go And somehow they were meant to show That life and love are never really gone So when my journey here is through I'm certain there is just a new hello And so, when I travel on...
Let me be the music The music of love I have known Let me be the melodies In the wind and the trees That sing to the lost and alone Let me be the sweet refrain In the sound of the rain And the rippling stream Let me be the lullabies That close the eyes of children When they dream
For music has no walls or bars It bridges time and space It only asks the senses to surrender It sweeps us to the stars And makes us one in its embrace It has no fences, it has no gender
So let me be the music The beautiful music of love Let me be the voices of Spring That rejoice in the things That blossom and grow Oh, let me be the music To come again as music The beautiful music of love When I go
Oh, let me be the music of love When I go "Everything is bad except unicorns." -- Phoebe | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 24,742 Likes: 10 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 24,742 Likes: 10 | Kel
I understand and I wasn't trying to prompt you to post sooner than you were ready. I wrote what I did in the organic sense that my character would do what she did in including Keiko.
When the time is right, and only then, you will post. You will do a catch-up post I hope and it fill in the spaces left uncolored and I will enjoy reading that post when Keiko resumes.
I am so sorry your heart grieves as it does. I am sorry for your losses. everyone copes with grief in their own ways and I hope you find the music of love to give peace to your heart. | | |
