"So what are we to do with this filth?" the halfling asks the others.

He really couldn't care less. Perhaps, if they found treasure that was too heavy to carry, they could force the goblin to carry it for them. He was trying to think of reasons to let it live. It had not attacked them, but that was rarely enough reason for Lingo to find value in a creature.

He stayed near the door to listen for activity on the other side. But clearly the others were not ready to proceed yet, he thought with a sigh.

As he waits by the door and listens, Bern can hear: "Bloop, blip, droop, drip", coming from the other side.

I am at a total loss how it double posted an hour & 15 min apart :-/

While the others went about their 'getting ready', he listened to the sounds, but they were not immediately helpful. But if they changed, that might be helpful in alerting of a threat from behind the door ... and his hoped for surprise would be lost.

"The goblin seems to have leaked some brains. Maybe it knows stuff we need to figure out. Does anyone want to convince it to talk normal? I know some tricks to make critters talk...unpleasant tricks, but they usually work."

"What is it that we want to learn? I think it would be better to decipher the answers than torture the creature for it." The others knew his temperament on the subject.

(OOC - OK, a quick reminder of what most of you felt was your primary mission, before you got sidetracked with almost a dozen requests by others to help them do various things. You were hired by Gundren, the dwarf miner and his brothers. He was captured by Goblins and taken to Cragmaw Castle by someone named "The Spider". You have no idea where that is and have been asking around, when you remember to, if anyone might know. One of the suggestions was to ask a Goblin. Part of the reason you came here, other than to take care of the Redbrand problem, was because you'd heard there was a Goblin here. Although Balthazar's comment is well taken. You have time for Q&A once you deal with the rest of this place, presuming you don't allow Lingo to torture the Goblin to death first <g>. Bern is ready to open the next door, if the rest of you are ready as well. Just need direction/intent.)

He turned to the goblin, looking at it.

"Several dwarves were taken captive by goblins. Do you know where they are?"

"Dwarfs? Dwarfs? No dwarfs round here. Goblinses all round Phandsy. Yes. Many Goblinses. Maybe they'se know 'bout dwarfs?"

She didn't think they could afford to waste any more time before acting on the ranger's plan, but a snippet of a memory had entered her mind.

Ryssa held up a hand to Bern in a justaminute gesture and then turned back to the goblin.

"Tell me about the Spider."

Droop looks at you blankly. "Spider? They'se spiders all round here. Look", he glances down, takes a step and stomps, then looks up at Ryssa with a grin. "One less now!"

(OOC - Good thought, but he doesn't know about leadership and high-level plans. He's happy to not be stomped on by Bugbears.)

A scowl of disappointment twisted the scar on her left cheek and she turned to the ranger.

"I am ready now."

She nocked an arrow and stood ready to fire.

The wizard flexed his fingers and smiled at the cleric, nodding and moved to her side to fight next to her.

Now that everyone seemed ready, he explained "I am thinking something to put him off guard", he said with a grin. With everyone having signaled that they were ready, he pulled the spear and body out of the way of the door, then pounded on it. "Hey Boss", he called in as gruff and guttural a voice as he could manage, "We need ya ta settle a bet." He put his ear back to the door to listen, ready to spring the door when whoever on the other side started to open it. [[ does it open into or out of the room we are in? ]]
