And we have our dwarf contact in common! Neil, I was about to ask what Orium is but you answered that. I assume it is quite valuable? Only asking so I know how much care I would exercise looking after it. | | | | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 4,015 Revenant Member | Revenant Member Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 4,015 | Works for me Gypsy! Valuable then, but not reliable as a currency or high street trade good. (Can anyone remember the orium dragon in the Dragonomicon? One of the rarer metallic dragon types!) I think it's great that Owain is starting the game with his first disciple. We'll see if he can accumulate any more by the end. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 80,335 Likes: 75 Wizop Administrator | Wizop Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 80,335 Likes: 75 | Ah.. thought I'd heard of it. I even Googled it but nothing cropped up in the first half page. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,492 Likes: 12 Member | Member Joined: May 2000 Posts: 42,492 Likes: 12 | Well how could anyone fail to be completely inspired by such a great montage!!!!

I'll be able to compare so it should be fine. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 | Yeah, Zeim, I'll use Bullzip to print them to a single PDF file and then upload it. In general I've filled in the blanks, corrected stats and cleaned things up for you as much as possible. For example, it's assumed that you have equipment to do whatever you do as defined in your background. So we don't need to worry about whether PCs can afford a 10-foot pole, or rope, etc. I have noted on the goodies you gained from the prelude though. Any changes that stood out to me? D. Master Assassin background to Master Villain. I'd been trying to address your concern about the overlap between Thief and Master Assassin. Came up with Master Villain. Jexric. Nothing that I can recall. Nestaron. I think you had one feat too many? Added your quarterstaff and some armour too. Seyja. Nothing that I can recall. Tindarien. Changed Treasure Hunter to Relic Hunter, to capitalise on the Arcane Heritage, which applies up to +2 to a suitably arcane background (to a max of +5). Weston. Filled in a lot of blanks. That's about it. Zoltan, I think the only major change for you was removing the Con bonus from being a wood elf. Removed Survival +1 and added to Tracker, iirc. (To be an expert tracker you have to be an expert outdoorsman, so I think this has it covered.) | | | | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 4,015 Revenant Member | Revenant Member Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 4,015 | suits me thanks. was confused about the feats myself. | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 23,049 Likes: 12 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 23,049 Likes: 12 | Neal - Sending you a PM. I believe the changes made are not correct (although partially my own fault). Explanation in the new sheet sent via e-mail. Oh, forgot to add the +25gp to the new sheet.
Also, Nestaron's sheet looks blank?

The way i read it... got the ability regardless of the requirements. Does this not mean now? Or does the 3rd level requirement still stand even in light of not needed?
Not a big deal just trying to understand the verbage in the rules. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 | Yeah, I can see Nestaron's sheet np. Checked it out on my smartphone in Drive PDF, np, but then in Quickoffice, and it was mostly blank. So I suspect which PDF reader you're using must have something to do with it.
Updated Zeim's character sheet then.
Pandemonium. You can pick up Thief Strike at 3rd level, or as a Thievery feat. i.e., It doesn't come with Thievery as stanard, you have to buy the feat.

So like instead of Sure Cut. Hmm will have to think on it, if it is available. That makes more sense as one of this four powers. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 | Actually it'd be instead of Improved Initiative. That's your feat. You only get 1 feat at 1st level, unless you're a human. | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 16,599 Likes: 16 Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator | Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator Joined: May 2009 Posts: 16,599 Likes: 16 | Ah, heh I thought you goofed when you said Feat. I will really have to think on that. | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 23,049 Likes: 12 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 23,049 Likes: 12 | Neal - AC should be 20, not 19. I think you left off the Class Talent for Bastion. Otherwise looks good. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 | Nice one. All sorted, Zeim!
Pandemonium. Yes, feats are a careful choice in 13th Age, because you don't get many of them and they can beef up your existing powers quite substantially. I do like how they've made everything more desirable in 13th Age. You have a real choice. (Sure, it makes choosing difficult, but that's got to be a good thing.) | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 16,599 Likes: 16 Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator | Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator Joined: May 2009 Posts: 16,599 Likes: 16 | Hi Neil, Here is my confusion from page 128 in the core book, under Thievery which is a Talent he took...
Adventurer Feat: Regardless of your level, you gain the bonus power thief ’s strike (see page 130) in addition to your normal number of powers.
I note the word Feat, yet... further on.. on page 130 listed under 3rd level powers... Thief’s Strike Note: This is a bonus 3rd level power for rogues with the Thievery talent; other rogues can choose it if they like. Melee attack At-Will Target: One enemy Attack: Dexterity + Level vs. PD Hit: Half of WEAPON + Dexterity damage (including Sneak Attack damage if any), and roll a normal save. If you succeed, you can pickpocket an item from the target that they are not holding. (If you roll 16+, the target doesn’t realize you pickpocketed them.) Miss: —
So although the word Feat is used in on spot, Powers are used in multiple spots. Is there an errata someplace I can read a clarification?
Honestly it really isn't a big deal. I don't see him using it all that often. But if it is a bonus, then obviously he will take it. If not, the sheet stands as is. Just color me confused. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 46,267 Member | Member Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 46,267 | The montage was entertaining and, somehow, simultaneously painful. The character sheet suits me. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,227 Likes: 10 | Y'know, Exeter, I don't think I've ever run a training montage in a game before... I may have to squeeze one into HHE some how. Definitely if the character's level up. Pandemonium. The description of Thievery on Pelgrane Press's wiki omits the bumph, and just gives you a point-by-point breakdown. <Shows link http://www.pelgranepress.com/wiki/index.php?title=Thievery> So you can see what the talent gives, and then what the feats give. | | |
