With the add of the rope that had been tossed up, Balthazar will attempt to climb up out of the gorge to rejoin his friends, knowing that Lingo would have no trouble at all scaling the walls.
The group decides to head thru the southwest exit, and down the short flight of stairs. At the bottom there is an intersection and a short hallway. There are two doors, one at the north end and one at the south end.
Squeezing through the throng, Lingo moves up front. In a whisper he says, "back off and be quiet". He waits for them to do so, folding his arms across his chest and tapping his foot impatiently.
Only when they're a few feet back does he press his ears against the door to the south and then, after about a minute against the door to the north.

Lingo listens to both doors once everyone quiets down <g>.
At the southern door he can hear several gruff voices issuing demeaning commands followed by rough laughter. "Lick the floor!". "Roll like a dog!", "Sit up and beg!"
Moving to the Northern door, he listens again and this time he can hear a mysterious rattling noise, quickly followed by groans, shouts, and a gabble of voices.
He looks at the doors to determine which direction they opened. It would certainly be nice if they could block one or the other of the doors while they handled those behind the other.
"I wish we knew more about the layout here", he said with a sigh. "Are these rooms 'dead ends' or do they lead elsewhere? If one or the other has a deeper access, we could be in real trouble", he said as he considered the possibilities.
"Guess we have to take our chances and hope for the best", he said with a sigh. "It sounds like we need to find a way to block this door once we are through. Lingo, can you work on that once we are inside? Now what about this door? Is it locked, are there any traps that you can see?"
"No traps. Walk right in, if you like. Why don't you try left first. It sounded like someone in there was being tortured or at least kicked around. It might be a rescue and a good deed. I can tell you like to do good deeds."
"Well do you want me to charge in screaming and see what happens?" The large dragonborn offered a toothy grin which was much more frightening than a typical human smile.
The cleric moved slightly toward the northern door as she assumed they would enter the other door first and she wanted to leave room for Bern and Luminmorn to lead the way.
She nocked an arrow and waited, showing the dragonborn a quick smile.
