Bad timing!
Friends tell me that Mongoose Publishing were whispering of a new edition but couldn't say who exactly was working on it or when it was due. | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 Administrator | | OP Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 | AugustCubicle 7Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory, Sons of Russ Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Imperium Maledictum Inquisition GM's Guide Darrington PressDaggerheart: Hope & Fear Mongoose PublishingTraveller: The Vehicle Catalogue Traveller: Consular Envoy Traveller: The Infinity Suite Paranoia: Water, Water, Everywhere Monte Cook GamesCypher Character Rulebook Paizo PublishingPathfinder Flip-Mat: Barfight! With Daggerheart it's worth noting that you can buy the books and the PDFs together (from select retailers) or you can buy the Demiplane plug-ins and PDFs together.
The best value option imo is to buy the books without PDFs from the most competitively priced retailer. You easily save £20 a piece, then, if you want the PDF, buy it together with the Demiplane plug-in since it's a fixed price. | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 Administrator | | OP Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 | SeptemberPaizo PublishingPathfinder Adventure: The Dead God's Hand Pathfinder Flip-Mat: The Dead God's Hand Multi-Pack Starfinder Flip-Mat: Absalom Station Multi-Pack Starfinder Adventure Path: Secrets of the Swarm | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,322 Likes: 11 Wobbly Headed Administrator | | Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,322 Likes: 11 | I'm running the Vampire: The Masquerade 6th Edition alpha in a couple of weeks, so I reckon it'll be a while before we see any more World of Darkness releases.
Would you continue to buy 5th Edition books if you knew 6th was on the way? It's true that your old books don't suddenly become unusable when a new edition comes out. | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 Administrator | | OP Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 | OctoberCubicle 7Warhammer: the Old World Roleplaying Game, Starter Set Paizo PublishingPathfinder Flip-Mat: Haunted Library Pathfinder Game Night: The Dragon's Crown Pathfinder Lost Omens: Cheliax Infernal Inheritance Starfinder: Tech Core Renegade Game StudiosWerewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition Roleplaying Game Tribes of Gaia Exodus Roleplaying Game Creature Catalogue Exodus Roleplaying Game Traveler's Handbook | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,322 Likes: 11 Wobbly Headed Administrator | | Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,322 Likes: 11 | My Daggerheart: Hope & Fear expansion arrived this week. It's got some crucial stuff in for my Isle of Dread campaign, i.e., dinosaurs. I bought Warhammer: The Old World RPG btw, with the intent of running the Quest for the Shattered Amulet (Advanced Heroquest) for my brother's family. Only to find they've completely omitted Skaven!! No Skaven in a Warhammer RPG. Criminal. Exodus looks interesting. Sadly uses D&D 5e system but is inspired by Mass Effect. It makes me wonder what effect these new, official D&D Universes Beyond will have on third party 5e products. Like, it's hard to imagine SW5E.com surviving the release of the official D&D Star Wars. (I expect WotC will be sending them a cease and desist before long.) | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 Administrator | | OP Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 11,484 Likes: 7 | NovemberMongoose PublishingNovember 2026 Traveller: The Aslan Hierate Traveller: Fleets of the Minor Powers Paizo PublishingNovember 2026 Pathfinder Adventure Path: Vaultlines Pathfinder: Feybound Pathfinder Flip-Mat: Crossroads Cavern Starfinder Critical Fumble Deck Starfinder Flip-Mat: Player Starship | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,322 Likes: 11 Wobbly Headed Administrator | | Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,322 Likes: 11 | Thanks, Argus! You know I bought the first printing of Daggerheart: Hope & Fear recently and gosh darn it, the cards are full of errata. It was easier to live with when errata was in the book only, but now it's on your play aids too... well, those aids become hindrances! Again it's an instance of an old, uncorrected version of documents being sent to print. How publishers continue to make that same mistake will always bewilder me. Sorry, had to vent! | | |
