In the late 1980s, the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood was the epicenter of the glam metal explosion. Lined with legendary clubs like The Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, and the Rainbow Bar and Grill, the Strip was a neon-lit haven for big hair, leather, and excess. Countless bands flocked to Los Angeles chasing record deals, creating a hyper-competitive scene defined by wild hedonism, theatrical live shows, and a distinct visual style. It was a cultural phenomenon where rock 'n' roll fantasy met commercial success before alternative rock shifted the musical landscape.
Among those was the band Warrant. A quintet of rockers who were once rivals but solidified a lineup that brought memorable songs like "Heaven" and "Sometimes She Cries" along with the title track to their debut album. Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich.
