She took another bit of the whiskey and laughed with Levon. "Oh - I have something slightly wicked to share. How about some AC/DC - She Shook Me All Night Long?" She winked.
The drink was starting to have its intended effect, and she liked teasing Levon a little today. "But first! Miranda and Henri! Come on kids. Your turn."
He was loosening up but wasn't going to get smashed this night. He did not like to give in to all his instincts. But he was happy to see that his new gal pal was enjoying herself. He kept his eyes open and looked about, studying the other people here.
"Yeah! Is there a French-English song you guys doing?"
He shakes his head at Levon's question. "No, we were thinking of either 'Walk this way' or 'It takes two'. It is an interesting idea though, Levon. Hmm, give me a half a minute..."
Thinking back a few years he remembers a couple of songs and quickly finds them on his phone. Handing it over to Miranda, he says, "Not sure if you want to try? I doubt though that the KJ would even have these available."
When Miranda finishes listening, he adds, "I kind of like the second one better. Has a catchier vibe."
He makes a funny face, smiles and says, "I'm French, so I would think I sing better in French."
He laughs out loud at himself.
"Let me check first. I doubt they have either song available. Be back in a bit."
Getting up with his phone in hand, he will walk to where the Karaoke person is to see if either song is available. If not it will make the decision easier with their original two choices.
"Yes, I didn't think you would have them. Thanks anyways."
Going back to Miranda's two suggestions, he makes the decision on the spot.
"Can you do 'Walk this way' then. It will be me and my girlfriend singing. Just not right away yet. Do couple of others."
If that is good with the DJ, Henri will walk back to his table and says to Miranda, "Nope. No French songs here. So, I signed us up to do 'Walk this way' if that's okay with you?"
The DJ says 'Sure Mate' and goes back to sorting out his recordings and cuing the next record.
A good looking male takes the stage this time. He gets some whistles and applause from his table as he takes his place. He smiles, looks slightly nervous as the music to Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' starts up. Turns out he is quite a good singer and it is clear almost from the outset that he is singing it to a pretty blonde girl back on his table. She is loving it, mouthing along to the words.
At the end though, he drops to one knee and with the mike still live says "Livvy, love of my life, will you marry me?"
Livvy is on her feet crying, laughing and nodding all at the same time. Their table erupts and most of the people in the room are applauding.
The DJ is happy to pause for a while and to give the moment it's fair due.
