I have often found role-playing a great way to explore how it might feel to be somethin/someone we can't be in real life. For example: when I created the original Gypsy character for Shadowrun, the background was a male circus performer who had come to the end of a relationship with his partner. He was leaving the circus and having to leave his daughter behind. Never been a father, never likely to be Anyway a tound teenager wanted to play in our game and the GM had the great idea of getting her to play my daughter. What an emotional rollercoaster. How much guilt and anguish Gypsy went through. But I did develop a strong bond with that character - hence taking the name for my handle online. So anyone want to explore what it might be like to be another person in unlikely circumstances? Or to explore a moral dilemma? Or to play out a role they have always wanted from books or film? Let's do this for Ken | | | | | Joined: Sep 2000 Posts: 61,516 Likes: 5 Arssanguinus Moderator | Arssanguinus Moderator Joined: Sep 2000 Posts: 61,516 Likes: 5 | I might see if I can come up with something on Tuesday or Wednesday my days off. I have a large library of plug and play personalities I can bring in. Incidentally, you are of course always MORE than welcome in ANYTHING I do. Always. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 105,414 Likes: 9 Beagle Goddess Moderator | Beagle Goddess Moderator Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 105,414 Likes: 9 | Thanks, Art. I will have to look at what you have going or plan to have going. I'm not sure if I'm up to coming up with a game just yet but I'll mull it over.
