There is a world of superheroes and villains, costumes and capes, government and law. That is not where you are. That is Halcyon City, in the middle of the country. Smack dab in Kansas.
You are much farther south, in a no man’s land on the southern border. Where? Mostly, you don’t know. Enkidu does not need you to know. He only needs you to serve.
You are—or have been—living in a remote compound. You may have been born there or brought as an infant. You may have been kidnapped. Either way, you are grist for the mill. Experimented on. Changed. You are able to do fantastic things… and you have fantastic flaws. Most are broken things, living with other broken things, hoping no one will notice you. Or that has been your life to this point.

Either way, you have been subjected to needles, to tests, to Enkidu himself. His touch is like fire. However you started, you can now do fantastic things—but you are also broken.
Hadasha, for example, moves fast. Faster than anyone has a right to. However, she is also in constant pain as her body out-ages her. Most “unflawed” projects aren’t in the stock pens. Most of them are possibly even less lucky.

For the most part daily life is … dull, or at least repetitive. Long stretches of nothing followed by needles, hands and tests. At least that is the day to day routine until, one day, something changes.

The compound is an old building, looks like it was once some sort of hospital, with serious underground facilities, and an attached fenced compound. It’s bigger than you would think but is also somehow hidden.
