Welcome, adventurers!
This forum will host virtual escape room experiences.
If you've ever done a real escape room experience, this is going to have similar types of puzzles.

If you've ever played a table top RPG, this is going to feel like a very complex puzzle your GM threw at you.

Here are a few general rules that will apply unless specified otherwise in the specific room's thread:
1. Rule #1: Have Fun!
2. No brute force solutions. The goal here is to solve the puzzle(s), not try all 1000 combinations on a 3-digit lock, pry open a safe with a crowbar, or smash locked windows, etc.
3. Each object, note, or puzzle element is intended to be used once. If you're holding onto a clue you haven't applied yet, keep searching... you haven't found where it fits!
4. No specialized knowledge will be required. You won't need to know obscure historical facts, advanced math, or read any real languages (although knowledge of Roman Numerals may come in handy). Everything you need is provided within the game. You are expected to know your ABC's and be able to do some basic math.
5. I will post "Coming Soon" teasers so you'll be able to work together as a team from the very beginning all the way through to the end. This is an ideal state, it's perfectly ok to come in late and help, or leave early if you aren't having fun.
6. If working with other players, try to let everyone take a shot at solutions. This is not a competition and there are no prizes. It may work out with time zones that you're always the first person to see a clue. In most cases there will be multiple threads going on and it's a good idea to split up the threads between different players.
7. I'm trying to create puzzles that would take an average group of people about an hour to solve if we all did it at once. But we're on a message board, so while the story/background may imply some urgency, there's no actual time limit. Take your time! This is about puzzle-solving and fun, not racing the clock.
8. I welcome additional puzzle-masters and/or play-test volunteers, if you find yourself preferring to work solo or helping me create a future adventure.
