IKEA is an acronym for Ingvar Kamprad (the founder's initials), Elmtaryd (the name of his family's farm), and Agunnaryd (the village where the farm was located) I bet you didn't know that. I didn't. I also didn't know I have been pronouncing it wrong forever (like most of the world). It's pronounced "ee-kay-ah".
