<A single light illuminates an empty desk. Empty save for a picture.>
Jimmy and Selaim both dressed somberly bookend the desk barely in the light.
Jimmy looks down at the picture then speaks.
"In a somber moment earlier this week it was announced that one of our long time ACRO Competitors passed away last weekend. It seems fitting that we remember Shamrock and his family at this time. Although he'd been too sick to compete over the last game, nevertheless, over the seasons he has given all of us excellent memories and memorable definitions. Such as..."
Selaim dries an eye before looking at the camera, "Shamrock was the originator of the Otter ACRO definitions. For POG he won with: Possible Otter Gathering (in San Francisco Bay)."
The definition brings a slight smile to her face before she continues.
"Then there was Aliens In Xanadu (film at 11:00) for AIX"
"Typical. Aqua pulling out an X Acro. I swear they should ban that and..." Jimmy starts before realizing that Selaim is staring daggers at him.
"Right, sorry."
"And Another Bad Monday Cometh. Just a few of the many memorable definitions he submitted over the seasons. But most of all he brought a lightheartedness with each post in the form of his Signature. It seems only fitting that as we... Well... this was Miales's idea."
Jimmy quietly gazes at the image. "Yeah we wish he could come back. But for now a brief moment of silence as we remember Shamrock and all the excellent memories he gave us."
<a vignette scrolls through the many ACROS Shamrock submitted and his various seasonal Snoopy signatures>
Jimmy sighs then takes a seat as the lights of the set come fully come on. Selaim joining him on the couch. There is faint barking in the background.
"So final round... again." Selaim says glancing at Jimmy.
The barking grows louder.
Jimmy grimaces. "Yeah final round and I think our boss has lost his mind."
The barking grows louder. Jimmy cringes before continuing.
"Well he just said 'We'll have a dog race to the end.'"
"A WHAT?!?" Selaim exclaims her head whipping around to Jimmy. "What do we do with the horses? He told us months ago to get a horse track ready and get horses."
"A Dog race. He said it was more fitting."
Then from off screen a voice is heard.
"Yes more fitting and also a tribute to Shamrock. The dogs are all under the care or foster care of the Quincy Animal Shelter. Aqua is currently leading a drive for the Dreamlyrics community to make a donation on Shamrock's behalf to this fine institution."
<the camera goes blurry as a man walks on the set>
"For those of you who are curious about this animal shelter. Quincy Animal Shelter has been around for over 25 years and is the premier No Kill animal shelter in the New England area. They have a 96% save rate because euthanasia only happens for violent aggressive animals or animals in extreme pain and little chance of recovery. For anyone interested in joining Aqua in making a Tribute donation to this institution that Shamrock spent his life supporting please PM Aqua."
<the camera pans out to show the entire set as the man sits in the chair beside the desk>
"Now for less serious business. ACRO."
"You are in the lead." Selaim says beaming.
"Yes and I have an angry Aqua and a hoard of minions breathing down my neck. Show the Leaderboard."

"Now as I was saying. I might be in the lead but that is solely because I haven't had to deal this season. What is more impressive is the fact that Aqua has dealt SIX. Count them Six times and is only Seven points behind me. Here look at that stat."
A laser pointer highlights Aqua's point per game.
"He's might beat the highest points per game mark that he set four seasons ago. I think he needs to score 12 points or more to do that."
"13." Selaim says quietly.
"What?"
"He'd need 13 points, boss. Numbers are sort of my thing." Selaim says.
"Ok 13 points. But the fact of the matter he's had an excellent season. And he can easily beat me by 7 points with his definition."
Selaim looks quizzical and then asks, "Ummm. Wouldn't that just lead to a tie? Wouldn't you share the crown then?"
"No. In case of a tie at the conclusion of the final round the player with the highest points per game will be the overall winner." Miales says. "In this case it'd be Aqua. So every point counts."
There is a brief silence before Jimmy speaks, "Well um I guess that is that. Closer game this year with Miales still seeking his second overall win. Aqua breathing down his neck and Weez and Mina hoping they falter and their definitions catch the proverbial lightning in the bottle."
"Without further ado let's introduce the competitors fro..."
"No today all that matters is Shamrock and the vote. Introducing everyone can wait til another day." Miales said as he gets up and leaves the set.
As he departs he is heard yellling, "And keep that stupid Wolfkin away from the horse. I have plans for them."
The set grows quiet then Selaim turns to Jimmy.
"Ummm doesn't he know Phelan..."
"Is one of the animals Quincy Animal Shelter dropped off? Oh he knows. It is Phelan we are talking about though." Jimmy says as he rolls his eyes.
"Well Dugan is the controller of the vote. So all that is left is for him to post it. In the meantime as a reminder."
Another screen lights up in black with red letters.

Selaim and Jimmy are still seated on the couch. Relaxing.
"Wow that is a fine crop of definitions, " Selaim says as she looks over the graphic.
Jimmy glances over to her, "Remember we can't influence anyone's vote. I mean I can already tell you that we have quite a few with references to pop culture. We also have gardening, vacationing and even a cat definition. This round has it all."
"Yeah but who is going to vote first?"
"Not sure. Probably Aqua or Miales knowing them."
Can we show the footage of the doggies coming in? Those were some cute doggies brought in by Quincy Animal Shelter."
<The screen showing the definitions disappears and a scene of 8 dogs of various sizes and breeds takes over the screen. A leashed wolfkin sullenly follows them only when his attendant drags him by the lead..
Selain chuckles at the last scene, "Phelan doesn't look happy. Not sure if he got the definition he wanted."
"You mean Aqua's? Doubtful. There is a 1 in 9 chance he got the definition from his hero."
"I guess all that is left to say is...

A camera pans on to Selaim as she is walking backstage.
"So the leaders have just submitted their votes and the puppies are off and running. So far the No 8 Mutt and the No 9 Beagle are running neck and neck. Poor Phelan the number 4 contestant is having trouble getting out of the gate. Pan in on him."
The camera does so and everyone sees Aqua's No 1 fan trying to bust down the door to his gate.
"Is that a screwdriver holding it closed?"
The camera zooms in revealing a large screwdriver holding the gate closed.
Selaim casually walks over and with a shot from a handgun crossbow neatly breaks the screwdriver's handle releasing the poor wolfkin who collapses out of his gate exhausted.

Jimmy and Selaim are bookending a screen with a visual of the track. Little icons are moving on it indicating the positions of the contestants.
Jimmy starts to speak.
"Welcome back. The puppies have made it to just a bit past the halfway point. And we do have an exciting one out there. The beagle and the mutt are still neck and neck with Phelan close behind."
Selaim glowers at Jimmy.
"I still say that Phelan cheated by throwing out those squirrels. It was utter chaos in the middle of the pack."
"Well they're gone now thanks to the beagle. We have a picture of the Number 9 Beagle as he took out the Red Squirrels."
An image appears on the screen

The camera pans on Jimmy lounging on the couch. The screen with a visual of the track Directly behind him. Two of the icons are shown quite a distance from the rest of the pack. The pack itself seems to be surrounding a single icon.
Jimmy starts to speak.
"Welcome back. With Tusk and Gypsy voting, we are nearing the end of this fiasco. The beagle and the mutt are still neck and neck with the mutt pulling slightly ahead. Meanwhile we are having a bit of a fracas in the middle of the pack. Selaim went down to see what is going on. Selaim? "
The scene switches to Selaim who is holding a familiar bunny.

"I swear Phelan is a menace. He stole Dash from Mina! I mean Dash! There will be blood I tell you when I get my hands on him. Blood I tell you!"
The screen splits and a now alert Jimmy is on the other scren with a shocked look on his face.
"Dash is alright though? Right?"
"From what I could gather, Phelan left the track and bunny-napped Dash. I think he was going to release Dash on the track. But when he got back puppies numbers 6, 3, and 2 just dog-piled him. Literally. Here focus the camera over there." Selaims says pointing at a a spot on the track.
A chaotic scene unfolds. Phelan curled up in a fetal position as a mob of puppies nip, lick, and paw at him. Meanwhile, a smaller group of puppies 6, 3, and 2 trot away. The camera focuses back in on Selaim but not before Havanese wearing the #7 is seen lifting his leg on Phelans head.
"Ewww. that's going to leave a mark." Jimmy is heard as he tries to stifle a laugh.
"So that is the scene down here. I need to find Mina and give her Dash. I'll be back in time to announce the winners."
The scene cuts back to the set with Jimmy standing in front of the couch.
"We have had all of the Usual suspects vote. Well all of the potential entries that we historically know about. Well except for Mouse and possibly Barry. But for this season all have voted. The polls remain open for now. Dugan is running that part of the show and according to his post we have until the end of the day for any other potential voters. It is still anyone's game."

As Dugan leaves the set, the camera pans back over to Selaim and Jimmy seated on the couch. The desk still draped in black with Shamrock's picture.
"Well how does that change the ACRO Championship picture?" Selaim asks.
Jimmy uses the remote and the screen behind them lights up showing a graphic of the leader board.
"It really doesn't all that much. Here is the before picture. Now here is the after."
He clicks the remote again and a new graphic appears.

"Yep he won. He's now a two time ACRO Champion."
"Then why aren't we celebrating?"
A man walks across onto the set and sits in the chair next to Selaim and Jimmy's couch.
"Because I said so. I only won because Aqua had to deal 6 times to my 1. Instead let's celebrate some achievements."
Jimmy looks over to the man quizzically. "Achievements?"
Miales ignores him. "Selaim you picked those items up that I asked you to?"
"They're over there boss." She says pointing to the desk.
"Ahh yes."
Miales rubs his hands and picks up the first plaque.
"During the last few seasons we've gathered in new players. This season we had two and they ran neck and neck the entire season with the final round being the deciding factor. She comes from Aotearoa and is DL's most prominent Kiwi. She jumped in and within two rounds was in the thick of things and winning. I present to you our ACRO Season 24-25 Rookie of the Year:

Selaim and Jimmy clap. Selaim clearly happy saying, "I know her Coral!!"
Miales lets things die down before continuing.
"Last season I mentioned that I would need to "Catch lightning in a bottle" to score 18 points and win the championship. I failed. But this season we had four players meet or exceed that score in a single round."
Miales holds up a large bottle with with lightning coursing within it.
"I present to you a new award. The Lightning in a Bottle award given to the player with the highest point total in a single round. We had four candidates.

Jimmy smirks. "Mine was Aqua's. It reminds me of our New Year's celebration."
Selaim laughs.
"You two done back there?" Miales says glowering at the hosts. "We have one more award to announce."
The two look at each other then fall into silence.
"That brings us to our main award. A new championship. A championship that honors the player who consistently put out strong definitions throughout the entire season. They might have been tripped up a few times having to deal but their effort at producing consistently strong definitions speaks volumes. So it is with great pleasure I'd like to present to you our first ever and the ACRO Season 24-25 Points Champion...
Aquadyne!!!
"As we get ready for the new season, I'd like to thank everyone for playing in this one. I'd like to mention that all the dogs donated for the race by the Quincy Animal Shelter have been returned. Any dogs bearing a likeness to my own is coincidental. There is still time to get with Aqua to set up the kennel for a year in memory of Shamrock."
"With that said, New ACRO season starts in two days. Hope to see all of you there."
All animals depicted in this were fictitious. Any resemblance to real animals was purely coincidental. Except Snoopy... Snoopy is real I tell you. Him and all his incarnations. Meanwhile Phelan is not real. (Luckily) He is being sent back to where he belongs... Riddermound... oops... time to celebrate... he's back in time for his funeral...
