Aubric sighs as he watches the others begin to don their wet clothes again, so soon after getting comfortable. He looks down at his own dry feet in the comfortable slippers, then back up at the others with a mixture of exasperation and resignation on his face.
"I suppose we should have asked about the horses before getting comfortable," he says, shaking his head slightly. He starts to remove his slippers, pondering joining everyone to take care of Conundrum, but pauses, apparently in a conundrum. "Perhaps I should stay here and keep our table? I can order some food and drink for when you return, assuming you won't be long?"
Sindar, Pavel, Bern, Aubric and Zindra elect to tend to the remaining horses and carts. They put their muddy boots and cloaks back on and head outside. Inside Arus, Kriv, Jaliera, Zhu and Davroar save their seats at the table.
As they approach the animals, it is clear that they are agitated but not so much so as to be spooked. They take the reigns of the horses and lead and the carts to the back of the inn. In the back they find the stable. As they approach, the doors to the stable opens. An older boy, a brown haired half-elf, calls out, "Yer wagons and carts need to stay outside. I gots some extry tarps to cover them, but they be wet alreadys. Bring da animals inside. We gonna treat dem good here."
Back inside, the waitress, who wears a drab green apron comes by with two pitchers of water which she carries in her left hand, a stack of tall wooden water cups which she places on the table. She reaches inside the front pocket of her apron and pulls out ten napkins each wrapped in a fancy manner around a set of utensils and places them on the table. Once again she simply leaves. As she does so some of you see her glance over towards Avgar Filroy who has been eyeing her with a scrutinizing eye.
She nods. "Yes, something is not right, but then we were warned things are not normal here." As the girl turns to leave she calls to her softly. "Excuse me miss. We are new to these parts and just passing through. Can you tell us about the town and the keep?"
Pavel seeing that there are four others with him grumbles, "I'll go find the tarp and cover the cart real quick if you all can bring the horses in."
He starts looking around the barn for one before calling over to the older stable hand. "Where are the tarps? And some of our gear is in the back. Is there a place to hang blankets and such to dry?"
While intending to stay inside, Aubric is somehow swept outside along with everyone else. Rather than cause a fuss, he tries to make himself useful, getting the horses sheltered and making sure any of them who are hurt get enough healing to fully recover by the morning.
When Jaliera mentions she is jittery, he will reach out to hold her hand to reassure her. "I approached as a wolf, I did not smell any undeath from like the giant around here." Yet, when Zhu mentions having the same feeling, Davroar becomes a little more doubtful, yet just adds, "We all probably just need a good rest after today."
Before putting the tarp in place Pavel gathers the sodden equipment and takes it in the barn using the disk as before. Once there he gathers a second tarp and starts casting Prestidigitation on them.
Once the gear is Cleaned using the spell He wraps it all in tarp so that it stays dry on their trip back to the inn's common room.

DM Inside the inn, when the waitress leaves through the doors to the right, Filroy makes his way to the table where a few of the group remain.
"Alright then. I see that you have five horses and that there are ten of you. Each horse being stabled will cost one gold piece per night. You will need to double up as there are only two beds per room and you will need five rooms. The rate for each person is five gold pieces per night and that includes your meals and two full tubs of hot water. I assume that you are all here for the hunt. Is that correct?"
She takes Davroar's hand, welcoming the contact. It is always reassuring havng him by her side.
"...how much?"
She cannot believe the cost. Even though she is quite wealthy from her share in the mine, she never thinks of herself in that way. Always poor when growing up, a lot of lessons about being careful with spending were constantly reinforced by her parents. After they died in the fire she was on her own and struggled for some time. Those lessons had taken root though and the extravagance almost takes her breath away.
She takes a moment to remind herself that she has money and that there seemed little alternative on offer. After than muddy hillside nightmare, she really wants to be warm, comfortable and well fed.
He practically chokes on his own tongue after hearing how much it is going to cost them to stay here. "Should have done some fishing by the river earlier to save some coin..." Davroar is not too happy with the high prices, yet it is just the one night that they are planning to stay so he might as well just pay up and get one civilized nights rest in a proper bed before heading into High Forest.
Even while Filroy is at the table, the rest of the party returns having boarded their horses in the stall. ooc: might as well have everyone together... You all may continue to chime in,
He uses the towel and slippers he set aside earlier, to do the job all over, again. This time it was nicer as there was a goal of a meal and a warm bed to go with it.
Her eyebrows rise a bit at the prices but she doesn't say anything, instead she considers what, if anything, she has heard about the hunt. There was something said about hunting people if she recalls correctly.
