picture by Coccineus-DeviantArtSleigh bells are heard as a camera sweeps over a wintry landscape. The camera pans in to a nondescript building in the country. Two figures, bundled up in hooded winter coats, are shoveling the snow. The camera zooms in. A man is heard grumbling.
"Come to the new set he says. Come check it out. What he didn't mention was we'd have to dig it out first. Or that it was in a frigging barn in the middle of nowhere."
"I'm telling you the boss didn't know that it was against the lease. I mean how man leases have a "No Fireworks" clause?" a woman's voice is heard saying over the crunch of snow.
The man stops and leans against his shovel glaring at her. "That is common sense. He set fire to the couch. I liked that couch. It was comfy." The last bit a mournful whine as he starts reaching in his parka.
"Look. We were going to have to come out here and set up the new set anyway. What is a few months early?" the female said as she shoved another shovelful of snow on to the mound.
"There you should be able to open the door now." She says as the man fumbles with a set of keys. He grunts a little as he opens the door and flicks on the lights. The camera follows them as they enter and then stand dumbfounded. Inside is an exact recreation of their former set complete with a new couch.
"Well this isn't like Round 25 or the Fireworks Festival. What does he expect us to do?" the man said taking off his coat and tossing it on the couch. Jimmy turns toward the woman who is removing hers as well. The cameras revealing two familiar figures.
"Not sure. He said he'd leave a note. Ahh! There." Selaim says walking to the desk. "He wants us to make sure everything works and errm... you're not going to like this."
"Not going to like what?" he says with a sense of dread.
Selaim grows quiet and says softly, "Set up fireworks."
The camera goes dark but not until you can hear Jimmy scream and start cursing.
But Now it is time ring in the new year by crowning a round winner.
