[OOC I hear you. I suspect it is just the three of you as Cat is busy. ]

The three of them are able to move down the beach. The question arises do they go quickly or do they go slowly. For the most part the prints are easy enough to follow going in and out of the current surfline. They suspect that it was not in the surf when the figures ran down the beach.

At the far end of the beach, they see another cliff face, pocked with dark spots that indicate other caves or tunnels.

Aendell

Looking at the tracks they've been following can he see any indications of where they stopped and perhaps any blood trail up the cliff that points to a specific entrance?

Coral

She looked to see if the tracks gave any hint of injuries or numbers and where they were headed in the cliff.

Selaim

After Aendell arrived, Selaim keyed in on the blood trail. She follows the tracks looking for more and calls out if she finds more.

Coral believes that the blood is goblin, it shows as darker black cast off. She also belives it is from a series of superficial wounds, but enough to draw blood. Nothing mortal, but certainly hampering.

The trail leads as if the goblin was fleeing the small shod tracks. The one wearing shoes is carrying something heavy, that throws their gait off a bit as they run.

Coral's best guess is they are between one and three hours behind the ones who made the tracks.

OOC: Letting Angr take the lead on this. She's the one that got the killer roll that gave us the most info.

Coral

"Come on then," she says to the others and starts trotting along the beach following the trail.

The beach winds to another cliff face. There, they find a variety of openings. Coral knows which one the two tracks lead to, more importantly, she spots a telltale smear of blood just inside of it. They can see about twenty feet inside before it curves upward quite rapidly.

If they had to guess they would think it would lead up and to the woods along the coast.

Coral

"Come on, there're up here somewhere," and leads on following the trail.

The trail leads into the dark, and then begins to climb at a pretty steep angle. At some point as they are climbing up in the cave Coral sticks her hand in something wet and sticky. Not far from there, she comes across something soft and squishy. She has found a small fallen body. It doesn't respond to her poking it.

Selaim

Selaim follows Coral. Evidently the girl has found something. Possibly a trail. As she follows she looks around to get a better idea of what Coral is following.

Aendell

He too follows along, weapon at the ready.

Coral

"Oh ..." Coral says on finding the soft body.

She gathered it up and went back out of the tunnel, trying to identify what she had discovered.

"I've found something," she said to the others.

Once out in the light, she finds a young boy. He doesn't seem wounded, though he is covered in black ichor. He seems like he is fast asleep, so asleep that even being jostled and carried the boy doesn't wake up. He must have had quite the adventure, to sleep that soundly.

Selaim is sure that the trail continues upward. Whatever left that black ichor was bleeding profusely, though still moving.

Coral

She hesitated, and looked to the others.

"Should we stop the pursuit, and take him home?"

Aendell

"We need to continue. One of us can bring him back." He looks at the others with him for a volunteer.

(OOC - BTW, I am confused by the situation. Is this the townfolk's kid? I though he wasn't missing?)

(Sorry. Been doing family stuff. Presume I’m still here following along)

No one in the party on the beach recognizes him immediately.

[OOC Some sort of roll to remember him from the mayhem at the square during the goblin attack. Depending upon the type of roll made, it might be a 4 or might need a raise to recognize him.]

Selaim

Selaim took a close look at the boy.

"He seems familiar. Maybe when I was following Kat. But he's obviously from town." She looked at the rest of them.

"Look liquid dries. This is still wet so we need to press on. Is it possible the ichor is the cause of his sleep?"

Aendell

"Could be. He shrugs and points. "Ocean is right there. We can wash it off and see."
