She walked around the outside of the buildings looking for signs of Goblins.

Aendell looks over the cliff. At the bottom near the where the sea meets the cliff face there are dark spots, probably openings carved by the repeated wave action crashing against the stone. No stone seemed to last against water given enough time.

Catalena comforts the boy, and he takes it well. His father might not approve, but he isn't here right now, and the boy and his mother appreciate her kind words.

Her magic works its way into the small wounded dog's brain. The dog has several bites on its flanks and a couple of claw marks. Whatever attacked it couldn't quite hold on to the slippery little animal.

Inside the dog's brain though, Catalena could see what the dog saw. It was dark, green, brown, and black. It had sharp teeth and claws. It's baeful red eyes gleamed in the darkness of the boy's room. It had come from the closet/wardrobe.

Coral is unable to find any tracks outside other than the family and their dog.

Inside, the most significant discovery is made. The closet/wardrobe is a cabinet that is attached to the wall. When it is opened, nothing immediately jumps out at them, nor does anything look amiss. However, a Hero of Sandpoint won't be dissuaded. He finds that there are loose boards at the bottom of the wardrobe. Removing them, he finds a tunnel. It smells of the sea and heads downward and towards the cliff face behind the home. The passage is small, it will accept a smaller humanoid, someone Coral or Zak's size, but not someone as large as Aendell.

Zak stays with Selaim in case she finds something.

Coral

After her unrewarding tour of the house she joined the others inside, and after their discovery, asked, "Do you want me to go and find out where it goes?"

Catalena

Cat headed over to Aeren's bedroom, Petal in tow.

"It's in the closet," she said as she entered and then saw Selaim had discovered it already. "Oh, well done."

She looked at the hole and said, "That's a tight squeeze. Whatever's in there has teeth and claws, dark green skin and red eyes. Could be a goblin. Could be something else. Petal will go along with whoever can fit. Goblins hate dogs, she can sniff out trouble, and I can keep an eye on you as well, through her. Maybe we should tie a rope round. A bit like eeling, I suppose."

You're a brave warrior, aren't you? she thought/spoke to Petal. You're going to help our friends save your family, my brave one.

She looked at Zak and Coral with a rueful half-smile. "I'm sure you can handle whatever it is."

Selaim

{OOC: Guessing the he meant She... but since Zak is with her...}

Once she finds the loose boards she calls Zak over. Lifting the boards she shows him what she found. Seeing the size of the hole she looks between Coral and Zak realizing that they'd be the two most likely to fit in the narrow confines.

"How far was it down the cliff? I didn't look out there. Was too busy in here."

Aendell looked over the edge, it was between 50 and 80 feet to the water.

Selaim

"So which one of you wants to go down the hole?' Selaim asks Zak and Coral. "And I guess we need to get some rope."

((OOC Character sheets indicate rope with Coral and two ropes with Selaim and Adventurer's Kits with Aendell and Zak that include rope. But maybe they're not on you but back at Inn?))

[OOC: It this a vertical shaft that requires a rope? or is it just a sloping tunnel that can just be crawled down?]

((OOC the rope is to pull back your bleeding body if that's necessary.))

"I'll go," she stated.

She concentrated hard and easily pulled the mystical forces together in her hands

Correct, it is a sloping tunnel, clearly dug out by claws or a similarly arranged tool. No rope needed at the moment. Who knows once it is out of sight?

[OOC - she's not hanging around - one turn to cast Protection and another to cast Smite and then she's off - but I shall wait for others to post]

**Really should explore down below** He muses while looking over the edge. He considers the distance and how much rope it would take, including tying a safety harness, then glances to each side to see if it looks like it is possible to reach the spot directly below by walking around the long way from the docks.

(OOC - Not being inside he isn't aware of what they've found or what they're doing.)

Selaim

Selaim looks over the rest of the group and notices something.

"Where is Aendell? I'll go get him. Wait before either of you jump down there. See what he has to say."

She goes through the rest of the home before poking her head outside to look around. Not seeing him in front of the place she heads around back.

"We found a tunnel in the boy's room. It heads down. Coral is talking about following it. Did you find anything out here?"

[OOC: Coral do you wait?]

He points down the cliff. 'Nothing immediately of note, but I suppose it is possible whoever it was scaled their way up from below or perhaps there are caves in the cliff face. We should take a look, but Coral first." He turns to follow Selaim back inside.

Selaim

"Must be with the tunnel coming up. Looks like Coral is set to go in." Selaim said as she led him back to the boy's room.

"That tunnel has got to come out somewhere." indicating the hole in the wardrobe's floor.

The group has gathered in the boy's bedroom again. Coral is prepared after putting her magics in place. Only the dark hole awaits.

The crawling is relatively easy for a small girl. Someone like the paladin would have had a lot of trouble moving through this tunnel. It slows down and away from the little house towards the sea.

As she travels she starts to loose light pretty quickly. It is not straight, it is an earthen tunnel dug by claws.
