Davroar

He falls to the ground from Jaliera's arm when when it seems no one is directly looking at him and changes back to his human form.

"Well, I was thinking of a cute wren or a thrush, but the cats in the barn might have gotten me as I was practicing." Davroar laughs at his own imagery of a cat coming up to Jaliera with himself in its mouth.

"Anyways, let's finish getting what we need and be on our way."

Davroar will end up buying a few bits of clothing to replace ones with holes in them, and replenish a few minor things like shot for his sling.

Jaliera

She wanders around with the others, buying boots & gloves, a mirror, studded armour, tops up her rations & arrows and feels a lot more prepared than she was.

Zhu

Having concluded their business withy the Potion vendor she looks at the others. "Shall we go see what this Dwarven smith is all about?"

"That sounds like a good idea", he said with a nod.

DM

The smith is easily found, between the smoke of the forge, and the sound of hammer on anvil. An apprentice appears to be doing most of the work under supervision of a grizzled old dwarf.

Zhu

Glancing at who is with her she says, "Might be best for someone else to take the lead here and ask him about the rumor he can create magical weapons. Also about Forkbeard and the Doppelganger. Many Dwarves don't care much for Elves, especially Eladrin."

Pavel

"Why don't we let Bern take the lead. See how the smith reacts to him coming "back" in to the shop." Pavel said glancing at Zhu and Bern.

<Bern>

He looked at the others then offered, "I can ask ... =if= you think I am the best choice."

Jaliera

She nods to Bern's question.

<Bern>

He moves closer to the smithy. "We were interested in some weapons. Are you the one to talk to", he asked.

DM

The dwarven blacksmith squints as he sees the party approach, focusing intently on Bern with an expression somewhere between curiosity and irritation.

"Oh, ye're back again already?" he grunts, eyeing Bern up and down with a hint of suspicion. "Didn't expect to see ye so soon after that little arms deal a few days past—thought ye'd be well on yer way by now, especially with all the magic ye were peddlin'."

He crosses his arms and lets out a gravelly chuckle. "Not that I mind good business, but seems strange yer askin' about weapons now after that whole song an' dance about enchanted blades and charms. Didn't ye take care of all that?"

His eyes narrow, scrutinizing Bern. "Aye... You are Bern, right? Or is my memory startin' to play tricks on me?"

<Bern>

"Yes, I =am= Bern. The fellow you dealt with was a doppelganger that I intend to catch up with", he said sounding somewhat unhappy.

DM

The blacksmith raises an eyebrow, glancing between Bern and the rest of the party. He scratches his beard thoughtfully, then nods, though it's clear he's still chewing over Bern's claim.

"Well, can't say I've ever had the pleasure o' dealing with doppelgangers myself. Odd business that, wouldn't want it in my forge," he mutters, with a bit of a sidelong look. "But if you say you're the real Bern, then... suppose that clears things up. Never know what sort o' folk drift through here."

His tone softens a bit, settling into his usual business demeanor. "Now, I don't have any enchanted pieces in stock like your twin wanted. But I've got fine, dependable weapons nonetheless: good steel swords, battleaxes, maces, a few sturdy bows, and arrows that'll fly straight enough."

He gestures to a rack where polished, well-crafted but unadorned weapons hang, each simple but functional. "If you're looking to buy, happy to make a fair deal. Or if you're after a bit o' care for what ye've already got, I can see to sharpening or patchin' up anything that's seen a bit too much action. Standard rates, no tricks."

Pavel

"But you did at the time have some enchanted stock? In other words you sold them to this doppleganger and his friend?" Pavels asks for clarification.

Jaliera

She listens to the discussion, ready to interject if she had a relevant question. Meanwhile she purchased some arrows to top up her holding.

DM

The blacksmith eyes Pavel with a wry smile, tapping his fingers on the workbench thoughtfully.

"Aye, enchanted weapons... well, I’ve had a few pass through these hands over the years," he says, his tone careful. "Word gets around that I know a thing or two about crafting a fine blade... and people do love to talk about the sorts of special wares they think I might have in stock."

He gives a casual shrug. "As for the dwarf and his friend... if they walked away with some fine weaponry, that’s their business, aye? Can’t fault a blacksmith for sellin' his wares, after all." His expression is polite but noncommittal, and he doesn't directly confirm any enchantments on the items sold. "Still, a good rumor does wonders for business, doesn't it?" he adds, with a grin and a hint of a twinkle in his eye.
