Miranda being quite capable of helping herself to a chair, sits down also.

"Hi you two, sorry we missed the music. And what is this hero story? I haven't heard about that."

Seems all eyes are still on Ian.

Ian

[OOC: Wow torturous....Ok let's see if I can get it right this time]

She hadn't been there, he thought. The group had grown so close over the term it felt like Miranda should have been there since she was now so much part of the group. But she hadn't been at the time. He glances over to Henri.

"You didn't mention Mortimer House, Henri? Well shouldn't be a shock. Not sure any of us have wanted to talk about the place."

He takes a seat next to Emma and takes a deep breath.

"It was last year (term?) Emma, Skye, Henri, Levon and a friend of our named Ivan, I think he transferred to another school or got caught up in real life somewhere." he says nodding to Henri and Emma.

"Well the six of us got caught up in some real crazy stuff while on one of the trips. This guy was kidnapping and murdering women. We happened across his hideout and wound up freeing this one girl who told us what she knew. On our way out we ran across the killer. He had a shotgun. Stupid me. And I mean stupid me thought it was a good idea to charge him when he was reloading. I wasn't as fast as I thought. He shot me in the legs and I went down."

He takes Emma's hand and gives it a light squeeze and looks to her in appreciation at this next part. "Skye and my favorite bartender worked to save me.Emma mainly used the whiskey to disinfect the wounds but she was sweet enough to give me a long pull before pouring most of the bottle on my legs while Skye patched me up."

He glances at her and realizes he is holding her hand still then splutters "And it's true. The doctor's said the smartest thing was to pour that whiskey on my legs. Cleaned and disinfected. Who knows how bad it have been if you hadn't."

He gives her hand another light squeeze before letting go and placing his hand on the table next to hers.

Looking to the rest he finishes his tale. "From what I learned Henri, Levon, and Ivan went on to fight and overwhelm the man. You could ask Henri but I think Levon whenever he gets here would be more likely to tell the whole story."

And Levon and Skye reach the table at this point.

Emma

"It was just basic first aid, nothing special," she smiled at Ian. "Honestly, you watch any of the shows out with a doctor you pick things up."

{Skye}

"Hey Scooby-Doo Kids!" Skye smiled, though catching the Mortimer House misadventures recap created a bit of anxiety within her. She squeezed Levon's arm reflexively and tried to move on. They were definitely on a different adventure now. "Reliving past glories or just saying we should go out for whisky again?"

Henri

That day will forever be etched in his memory as he listens to Ian, and silently shakes his head no when Ian asks whether or not he told Miranda about their trip to Mortimer House.

"Ian was the bravest of us all that day..." With Levon and Skye's arrival, he will go silent. His cowardly attack from behind with a hammer to the gunman's nuts is less than impressive compared to Levon's charging attack with the nunchucks slamming into the man's head.

There is a sudden commotion from the area where the musicians had been playing. A guy is shouting at a girl who is protectively standing in front of another guy within the reduced grup of musicians, some having left.

"IT IS ALL HIS FAULT!" the guy in the middle of the floor yells at her.

The girls shakes her head and starts to speak but is cut off an the angry guy continues.

"We were fine before he came along. Its HIS fault. I'm going to kill him."

He pulls out a long knife which had been hidden by his shirt.

The girl screams!

Ian

Having not learned his lesson fully from last time, Ian doesn't think. He acts. Jumping out of his chair he charges the guy with a knife expecting the guy to be more focused on the girl and the other guy.

OOC: This can be done in three ways:

1. From the back; Ian would grasp by the chest then lifting the guy and falling back twisting away from the knife.

2. From the side: Ian would drive in low at the guy's waist level then use his shoulder and legs to lift the guy off his feet to bring him down. Shoulder would strike just above the waist in the kidney/chest area.

3. From the front: He'd use some of the Akido he'd been learning. A reverse wrist throw. Namely by grabbing and gaining control of the guy's wrist and completing the maneuver

Levon

"SH*************!"

He moves quickly towards the knife wielding psychopath. He doesn't have any weapons...but his hands.

{Skye}

It happened all so fast again, but this group seemed even more primed for action than before. Ian made his move which prompted Levon to react. Since Skye was standing as well, she wasn't far behind Levon, and headed to pull the girl out of the combat zone.

"Fu.....!" was her expletive vocalization.

Henri

Having a choice here, Henri is not going to go anywhere near a man with a knife. Ian, Levon, and Skye are all trained fighters, yet he silently hopes nobody gets seriously cut as they close in.
It takes him a stunned moment to slip out his phone from his pocket, and with fingers that seem too slow to him he dials for the police.

Most people are standing wide-eyed in shock, unable to comprehend what they are seeing.

The York group having gone through something similar about 6 months ago react a lot more quickly.

Ian charges the guy from the side, fortunately the guy's left as the knife is in his right hand, The two topple to the floor. Levon runs up and stamps on the guy's wrist, causing him to drop the knife which Levon kicks away. The guy starts to struggle. Meanwhile Skye has placed herself between the angry guy and the girl.

Ian

Ian scrambles to gain control of the guy shoving him into the floor then wrapping his arms and legs around the guy into a modified full nelson a move he'd recently learned in jiu jitsu.

{Skye}

With the boys fully engaging the attacker, Skye wasn't too concerned. But, she kept her guard up and aware for any supporters the asshole might have.

"Are you two okay?" She asked the girl and the guy behind her.

The two look shocked. This was not something either of them had anticipated. The girl speaks. "Jonathon.." she indicates the guy on the floor still struggling. ".. and I dated until I finished it a few weeks ago and started dating Matt." She indicates the guy behind her. "Jonathon was getting too possessive, controlling, you know."

She keeps watching Jonathon obvious very uncomfortable, maybe guilty, about the whole thing.

Jonathon is shouting.

"Let me go. Tracy please. You know I would never hurt you. I just want us back like before."

He stops struggling and starts crying.

Ian

Ian feels the guy as is demeanor changes. Relaxes. And then feels a tear hit his hand. Looking down at Jonathon he sees the change. But he doesn't let go just yet. He whispers to the guy.

"I know you are in pain. And you're on a roller coaster. But this isn't the answer. You know what I mean? But it is up to her to decide if I let you up."

Then in a louder voice. "Levon, can you secure the knife?"

Once the knife is found and away from Jonathon, he'll calmly ask Tracy, "Want me to let him up or are we calling the police?"

Henri is already through to the emergency number who is asking "Which service do you require?"

Levon

"Gotta be honest with ya," Levon says as he adds his strength to Ian's to secure Jonathan. "You gonna have your smelly ass behind bars soon. I ain't in the mood to be dealing with no psychos so stop struggling. Last time someone pulled a knife around me he ended up in a hospital." It's clear that his accent was American. "I hear you got free doctors here."

He twisted the man's arm a bit so there was a bit of pain to make sure that it was understood that he meant business.

Emma

Oh God, Emma thinks, Crazy people are like Beetlejuice. You talk about them too much and another one appears. She hoped this would end better than last time, and it looked like her friends were still running towards the thick of it. Hopefully this time no one would be hurt.

Henri

"Eh, Police, please." He looks on as the fight stops as quickly as it started. While he does not make out what everything is being said, the assaulter's body language shows a much subdued and defeated man. Turning his concentration back to his call he adds in a calmer voice, "Look, I'm at Durham University, student commons and a fight started up. The instigator had a knife. It's stopped now. No one's really hurt, so probably don't need the police now... just give me a moment."

Henri will walk closer holding up his phone and asking all involved, "Look, I've police on the phone. Want them to come or not?"

The girl says "No" quickly whilst her new boyfriend says "yes" simultaneously.

Levon

He talks directly to the assailant that brandished a knife, and directly into his ear. "I don't know about your lady or her new squeeze, but when someone pulls a knife near me, the cops are gonna have a talk to them no matter what anyone else says. My pal over there just called them."

{Skye}

"Tracy." Skye tries to get the girl's attention and uses her experience at the women's shelter. "What is this guy going to do when there aren't others around? Has he ever done anything in anger before? You don't have to be afraid of him."

Henri

"Mon Dieu!", he mutters to himself when he gets conflicting answers to his simple question. Yet, he has two 'yes' versus one 'no', so he replies to the emergency operator, "Send a policeman, please."

Henri will remain on the line for the moment, and then simply says in a disinterested voice, "Police are coming." Hopefully by the time the police arrive, the craziness will have calmed down around here.
