She emerges from the cave with some of the others and calls out to the non-magical troll in giant, "Hi friend!" she waves at him. "Come show me where the giant made you dig!"

"This way," he says, gesturing toward the west of the rocky outcropping the cave is in. It's easy to follow him, even if he keeps his distance, and it's only a few hundred feet around to the west and north before the forest gives way to a burnt-out clearing, the trees destroyed by fire in a somewhat circular shape, and the ground beneath them torn up by digging; the remainder of burnt-out stumps are cast around the edge of the clearing. Other than being in the middle of the Evermoors rather than in the middle of the city, the hole looks pretty much like the hole the giants dug in Triboar but with evidence of the use of troll claws rather than shovels to do the digging. She asks Whisper to fly overwatch and let her know if anything is moving around the area. Then she follows the others, bow at the ready and keeping alert. She takes care not to point her bow in the troll's direction as he seems nervous but if it is needed, a change of target is easily remedied.

He hadn't been with them at Triboar but had seen the aftermath. TThe charred buildings and the hole in the town. At the time he hadn't asked about it so what might have been in the hole was lost to him.

Minions continue to fall until the digging giants triumphantly reaches down and pulls some sort of large, bent metal rod from the ground.
Seemingly that was what this whole thing was about, as as soon as they find it the two giants turn and flee, leaving the minions behind.

"What a surprise, an empty pit", he says rather sarcastically. To Pavel, he answers, "It was a large bent metal pole." Davroar remembers the giants took off with it as soon as they got it and he never did get a good look at it to offer any more detail than that.

"I don't think we have enough to on to figure that out, Bern. That's probably one reason why we need to meet up with Turlang," she whispers to her fellow member of the Emerald Enclave. "Maybe he has some answers. Let's see what we can learn from the the troll shaman and then we best get back to Calling Horns and plan our next moves."

She nods.
"Yes that sounds like the best course of action."
She turns to the troll and smiles with a nod of her head. Hopefully that will translate as 'thanks'. He nods in agreement with Zindra. "Yeah, looking for clues in dug up holes is getting us no where..."
Looking back to the cave entrance he says, "Shall we go back in see what the others have found on the giant?"

The troll looks relieved that the party is leaving him alone, having seen where he dug and apparently being satisfied with what they saw.
Inside, for those who remain, the would have observed the glowing red of the Giant's magic eventually fade, and the Troll Shaman who was called Galdrmaðr, using his own strength to break the chains free from the surrounding rock. He still seems calm and content and honoring the peaceful nature of the discussions, but does not seem to be in need of additional help from the party.
OOC: let me know if there's anything else you want to do here. You do have a 100-pound staff that the giant was wielding that you might want, or maybe not. Let me know your plans with that, or if you have any more questions or requests from Galdrmaðr. She makes her way over to the normal troll.
"We are going back to the human town. You go back to your folk with Galdrmaðr and tell your folk to stay away from the human town. You have this big land to hunt in. You have learned that town folk like us are dangerous but most do not want to hurt. Why did trolls come to the town and cause trouble there? Do you know?"
