The next morning comes earlier than it probably should given the amount drink that most of them have subjected their bodies too.

Breakfast is boar stakes and eggs for all that are eating at the Rusty Dragon.

Zak is the one that had agreed to go rat hunting in the General Store's basement.

What are the rest of you going to do for the day?

Coral

"I can help with the rat-hunting!" she pipes up at the first opportunity at breakfast.

Aendell

Coming down for breakfast he nods and smiles to the group and orders some of the boar and eggs. At the question, he says, "I am heading to the Shrine, and then maybe a bit more exploration in the Cemetery. Something is out of place here and I need to figure it out."

(OOC - Unless someone brings it up he doesn't mention his conversation with Cat yesterday.)

Selaim

The talk from the night before had messed with her head some. Her night was restless and lacking in sleep. She came down for breakfast a little more disheveled than normal. Nearly falling into a chair she sees Aendell's plate and shudders not knowing if her stomach could handler something that large this morning. She grabs a few rolls and starts eating them.

"I think I'll go with you princeling. Rats make me squeamish." she said through a mouthful of roll.

"You two have fun with those nasty buggers. The owner should just invest in a cat or seven."

Zak gets his equipment together and after a breakfast is ready.

Coral

After breakfast, Coral fetches her weapons and returns with sword and dagger on her belt.

[OOC: What do you take to hunt a few rats? WMD Coral!]

[Coral is just taking her weapons - rapier and star-knife - not that she is planning to use them ... no mass disruption here ... no sir ... just a little girl with some pointed metal sticks ]

The walk to the store is a short one. It is just a couple of streets over. As Zak and Coral enter into view, they notice the pretty red-haired woman who spoke with Zak the day before. Both see a small frown appear on her face.

When they get close, she says, "Come to shop?" It is clear the question is aimed squarely at Coral.

Coral

She shrugged.

"Maybe afterwards."

"I'm here, in case he needs help getting rid of the rats."

Coral's answer causes a frown from the red-headed shop girl. It is clear she didn't expect Zak to bring a friend.

Zak:

“She’s my friend. Family, of sorts.”

It was broadly true. They did come from the same ‘home’.

She looks at Zak, then at Coral, and seems to be thinking.

"Are you sure that is what you want? I mean, it is such a small thing she could stay up here, and we could handle it ourselves." Her voice has a plaintiff ring to it.

Coral

She shrugged. "I'm here now. "

"It will be faster to deal with the rats with three of us rather than with two," she offered.

The subtext of what was really going on, was sailing way over her head.

[OOC: The subtext is not going over Zak's head, in case that isn't clear...]

“It would be quite rude” Zak said. “To bring her along and then tell her she has to cool her heels up here? Surely together we can handle this quickly.”

The red haired lovely shop keep's daughter shrugs giving a mischievous glance. "More the merrier," she says as she heads into the store past the goods to the back stair. It leads down into what is obviously a cellar store room.

She proceeds them down the stairs and awaits them at the bottom. The basement has light, though it is obviously from a lantern or other closed light source. It doesn't flicker but does offer the soft glow of firelight.

Coral

Ever enthusiastically helpful, Coral followed the other red-headed girl down the stairs

Zak moves right behind, his hand on his rapier ready to,draw, his eyes peeled for trouble.

The basement is full of items that a general store would keep in their basement. As soon as Zak has stepped off the last stair, the young woman slides up to him, leaning her voluptuous body in close. The look on her face informs him exactly what she had invited him down into the basement for.

Coral

Coral started off exploring the basement, looking for signs of rats, oblivious to what was happening behind her.

[OOC: She can search. Lots of interesting things down here. Though sadly no rats nor anything dangerous. ]

Zak:

“So…. Rats? Somewhere?”

Zak wasn't getting the hint. She was used to different things out of her men. So she leaned in and planted a big, wet, sloppy kiss on him. "No rats, just little ole me who wants to have a nibble," said the attractive red-headed shop girl.

Coral

"No rats over here!" she called out from the gloom of one of the corners.

Zak:

“So you thought you would get affection by lying to me first?”

He raises an eyebrow.

“I am many things, but I don’t go for lies.”

She looks at him, surprised, mid-kiss. "Well, you are here now, isn't that good enough?" She is very close to him, her arms around his small frame.

Coral

"Oh..." she said when she returned from the shadowy corner and saw Zack and the woman in an embrace and faces close enough to kiss.

"Oh ..." she reiterated, blushing a bright red that clashed with her hair.

"I think the rats have gone," she added looking at the floor in embarrassment.

The shopkeeper's daughter looked over and, with a smile filled with something else, "Then maybe you should head out too. Thank you," her voice sickly sweet she said.

Coral

Mortified, Coral looked at the woman and then at Zak, and then at the woman again, and then at Zak again, then blushed even more and fled up the stairs.

Zak

"and I must follow her. Keep her out of trouble. She's a troublemaker!

And up the stairs he goes.

Coral


She rushed out of the shop into the street. And stopped.

Coral looked around. She wasn't sure where she was. She hadn't been paying attention when they had gone to the shop.

Zak leaves a beautiful red-headed young woman who stomps her feet in frustration in the shop's basement. Up at street level outside of the shop they meet up again.

[OOC: Where will they go?]

[OOC: where are they and can they see anything of what is going on? If not they will head for their inn - asking directions of they have to - unless Zak has a better idea]

They are at the General Store for a location on the map. But yes they know where they are, and can easily get back to The Rusty Dragon.

They could even wander past the battle that is occurring, technically the aftermath.

[Sounds like fun - let's have them go that way.]

Coral


"Zak," she whispered, nudging him and indicating the direction of Aendell. "Is Aendell robbing that man?"

“I’m sure he isn’t.” Zak says. Nonetheless we should get over there. Yes?”

He starts moving.

Coral

She goes with Zak.
