[OOC: Ryssa could cast a couple more healing spells but that would come close to depleting her list of spells.]

[OOC: No one has asked, but Luminmorn could do some healing too. He has one cure light though could use other slots if need be, and his lay on hands. Which brings up a question. His Paladin level is 3, so is his lay on hands still 15? Or his total levels of 4 which is 20?]

DM

The PCs remain in the dining room after the goblins ran past Luminmorn through the double doors that fed the dining room. They were too fast and too desperate. Clearly they are alerting the entire population of the castle that invaders had infiltrated the castle and are holed up in the dining room.

Ryssa


Using a spell which allows her to target multiple targets, Ryssa selects all of her companions who are wounded and casts the spell. A soft glow suffuses each of those and they feel better almost instantaneously.

Ryssa casts Prayer of Healing: 2d8+8 = 23

[ooc: That should heal everyone. BTW, if you're wondering why nothing is happening, it's because I'm waiting on you.]

[[ I think we (at least I) lost track of where we were in all the OOC stuff <sigh> Can we get a bit of a recap, whose up and all? Pretty please. ]]

(Mike, we're out of combat because we didn't immediately rush after the ambushers when they fled the room en masse and hid.)

Kriv

"Right then, onward."

He beckoned their observant forward scouts towards the door the goblins had used once the spell had healed them.

[ooc: AJ is right. 4 goblins escaped. Dead goblins are bleeding at your feet. That is the summary.]

Davroar

With the goblins gone, he can not keep his flame sphere spell running so he lets it go out. Fully healed by Ryssa, he gives a second thanks and walks over to Jaliera. "Good as new now. You're okay? Sorry, I'll be more careful. Chasing after that goblin was reckless..."

Looking to Kriv as his words are meant to spur them on, Davroar can only thing it is going to be harder now with those goblins running ahead of them.

Jaliera

She hugs him hard.

"I thought I'd lost you, I was scared. It is so good having a cleric around again."

She breathes a sigh of relief, all the pent up tension leaving her.

"We all make mistakes. And as the youngest we maybe more than the others. Just be careful."

She kisses him, a small blush touching her face with all the others standing there.

<Bern>

"Well the castle is alerted now", he said. "Stealth will no longer help. We will want to avoid big open spaces where they can surround us, use doorways and hallways to limit their access."

Luminmorn

"It would be useful if we could make them easier to see, as they are so sneaky," he offered.

[That's one nifty healing spell, Exeter!]

Chandan

He feels an inner warmth, the touch of a divine presence, and is reinvigorated.

Chandan nods his thanks to Ryssa once again. What a talent to have! To heal, to make better, to be the bearer of good news instead of bad.

His role, however, is to punch evil in the face with a furious fist, and to that end he tabs quickly and quietly from the room with the others, seeking out their foes.

Ryssa


She smiled and nodded her thanks to the ones she had, through the grace of Lathander, healed, and followed the others as they left the room.

Her spells had been reduced but not entirely depleted.

DM

The party is now fully healed but the castle is alerted. Do you follow the goblin's exit path or do you decide to go in a different direction?

[[ what can we see through the doorway they exited through? ]]

Jaliera

"I think following them is asking for trouble. But going another route won't really advantage us as they know this place better than us."

She lifts her hand and calls Whisper over.

"We might consider a third option? Find or build a good defensible position and wait for them to find us. Literally turn the tables on them? Otherwise I think we are going to have to try and scout ahead rather than walk blindly into a trap. Trying another way might be a better option here. Or as a fourth play, we could withdraw completely. Set up camp, rest, whilst one of us moves around, lighting torches, shooting arrows, throwing stones, trying to deprive them of sleep and the attack in the early hours of the morning? Any merit in these thought?"

Kriv

The noble commented,

"We are not here to play at being a besieging army. Focus on our objective."

He did not mention Gundren Rockspeaker by name, given the chance of being overheard.

"Scouts to the fore. Same way they went, catch them either in their preparation or running headlong towards a high value target. Eyes open, expect ambush, be ready for it. Start now, the sooner, the less time they have to act."

<Bern>

"I vote for Kriv's idea. I like it best of all those mentioned so far."

Luminmorn

He was a dragonborn of action. Life was dynamic, death stagnant, so he would rather move than wait. He gave a human gesture, a nod to agree to to the plan.

<Bern>

It seemed like there was a consensus. "Too many of us need light, which will give us away to the enemy". he pointed out. "Unless there is something that can be done about that."

Having spoke, he moved up to the door the goblins had fled through and listened.

Ryssa


Accustomed as she was to accepting the tactical decisions of Bern and Luminmorn, the cleric moved to follow her friends.

1) There is light. Cracks in the crumbling walls let it in.
2) While it's fair roleplaying, enough time has passed that whatever's next is likely ready for you. The only way to have prevented that was to follow immediately.
