Balthazar's Firebolt flies wide and the plant creatures attack. What previsouly seemed to be nothing more than dead brush springs legs, teeth, and claws and move in.
Inside the room 2 of them attack Lingo and one attacks Ryssa, but all three of them miss.
Outside, 4 of them gang up on Balthazar while a single one attacks the dragonborn. Of the 4 on Balthazar, two of them hit with their sharp claws doing 6 points of damage. The one on Luminmorn misses.
Everyone else can go, and then once you have gone, Balthazar can go again to start the next round.

**damn**, he thought as the weeds started moving and attacking. It sounded like there were a lot more of the things moving outside and only Luminmorn and Balthazar out there. "If you guys need help, call out. I am going to help the others." If things got too nasty out there, he could haul the two out there in and they could use the door to limit access ... at least that was the hope.
He stepped out of the doorway, pulling his rapier, and attacked ...
Ryssa had never seen plants attack like this, but she hesitates only a second. Her bow quickly slid over her shoulder, she moved forward covered by shield and attacking the nearest plant foe with her dagger.
He moved so that he could line up some of the creatures and released his breath. The intention had been to fry four of them with electricity. But he misses horrendously.
2 to hit, 5 dmg What a waste. The intention had been to moved and hit 6,5,8, and maybe the other one #4 in front of Balthazar. Luminmorn Attack with breath weapon Pandemonium rolled d20,2d6 and got 2, 5

Lingo This was the first time that a plant had ever attacked him. Lingo struck the one between him and Ryssa. She might think he was helping her out, but it was purely strategic. He had learned how to take advantage of the slightest blink of an eye and would stick the stick with his pointy sword when it was focused on Ryssa. That instant made his attacks all the more potent. And after he attacked he then hid around the larger warrior woman. It was time to play hack and hide.
(OOC - Pande - That's not how your Breath Weapon works. Just like a Fireball spell you don't need to roll to-hit. You automatically hit every creature in the AOE. Each creature in the AOE has to make a save. DC = 8 + your Con modifier + your Proficiency bonus (can you tell me that number please?). If they save they take 1/2 damage.)
[OOC Ty for the correction. Con mod is +2. Not sure of proficiency. Cha which is what he uses for most things is +3, and or level 3. Anyone who can give a hint, and I will look for that too.]
The party retaliates against the Twig Blights. Bern tried to stab one with his rapier, but his blow misses wide as the bush displays more dexterity than one might expect and ducks.
Ryssa attack #3 and her blow strikes true, the bush exploding into a cloud of twigs and sticks.
Luminmorn moves away from the surrounded Balthazar, but before panic can set in, the Dragonborn open his mouth and a line of Lightening erupts from him, engulfing three of the Twig Blights surrounding the mage. Two of them blacken, shrivel, and die. The third loses about half it's limbs but still stands.
Lingo steps up to the Twig Blight near Ryssa and slices it in half. The two pieces fall to the floor and stop moving.
Balthazar decides it'd be better for him to not be in hand-to-hand combat, and so with a quick word mists swirl around him and he disappears, only to reappear 30 feet away.
(OOC - Ken - Misty Step is a Bonus Action, that is it's best feature. You still get a normal action. Since we're at the top of the round please take it now. Also, the squares on this map are 10 feet so it's actually 30 feet to where you wanted to go, which is not a problem as that's still within the spells range.)
Balthazar acts and then the enemy go.

Balthazar's Firebolt sets Twig Blight #4 ablaze and it quickly burns to ash.
The ones that remain close in on the group. The one near Lingo cannot make out the Halfling and so it moves towards the Ranger and slashes at him, but misses.
Most of the other Blights rush forwards, but can't quite reach the group, except one (#10) which moves up to the opening to the ruined building and slices at Ryssa, but also misses.

The plant approached her and slashed, but she was able to block the blow with the edge of her shield. "Lathander, help me," she called out as she slashed at it with her dagger.
Safe at his distance, he does what wizards do best and attack from a distance with another firebolt, his go to spell. Unfortunately it goes wide of his target.
Ryssa attacks the one in the doorway, but misses. Luminmorn steps forward and cuts down Twig Blight #8. In the meantime both Balthazar and Bern miss while Lingo steps out of hiding and cuts #2 in half.
The remaining Twig Blights continue to slash at the group. Three of them (7, 9, & 11) move up and attack Luminmorn while the one in the doorway strikes at Ryssa. Only one of the hits the Dragonborn for 3 points of damage.
