As Kallista discusses the contents of what is in Urmon's Journal, Davroar notices that Mosk's ears perk up when the Wave Echo cave is mentioned. He doesn't speak up on the topic. Davroar senses that Mosk is holding information back.
Iarno simply replies, "That leads to the main entrance to this cellar. It's a way out, the way I was headed when you so rudely stopped me."
Satisfied that the group are going to continue the exploration, she maintains her rear guard. Her concern is not so much with treasure, some with information but mostly she wants to be sure that there are no more prisoners and that the Redbrands are no more.
She takes the three alchemical components and hands them to Jaliera. "Here. Why don't you take these and see what you can get for them the next time we find an alchemists shop? You are probably better at haggling than I am."
Maybe it was being in his bear form that he manages to read the body language of the bugbear, so before they move on he points the end of his staff towards him and asks, "Mosk, you've something to add? Seems we got you're attention with Wave Echo."
He looks at Kriv and the others and says, "Mosk here, all of a sudden got kind of antsy hearing that."
Looking left and right, he keeps his companions guarded as they question Mosk on the move to the south-east passage.
His priority now is to deliver Iarno to Sildar and continue with their quest to rescue Gundren. A damsel in distress might expect a knight in shining armour, but despite his fine locks (and beard), Gundren is no fair maiden, so he'll have to make do with a smelly vagabond, a street urchin, a grubby savage, a demonette and a man-eating, two-legged lizard.
The bugbear says, "Black Spider looks for something. Mosk no know what. Now Black Spider want kill Mosk. Mosk with you. You like blood!"
He said it in a matter of fact manner. It does sound reasonable that chaotic is likely that he has shifted allegiance. When he talked about blood, his eyes bulged and he smiled at Chandan. It seems that the bugbear admires the way he works.
The old monk was leading the party with spear in hand, across the underground hideout to the south-east passage. The one the wizard, Iarno, had tried to escape to when he was apprehended.
As Chandan heads out in the direction of the only area they have yet to search, she holds her place to slip in behind the others, taking her usual place as rear guard, still aware that the wizard's familiar is still around, even though they seem to have cleared the area behind them.
The group moves towards the unexplored area of the complex and reaches a dead end. When they get there, the wizard says, "There's a secret door at the end of the hall. It is not locked or trapped, we use it too much. It swings open if you just push it."
[ooc: I guessed at a marching order but you need to tell me if you want it changed. Otherwise we'll proceed.]
He is not too thrilled to be walking between Iarno and Mosk given that the bugbear has a short temper with the wizard.
For the time being though, he will keep his eyes on Iarno while also taking a quick look over his shoulder a couple of times to make sure Mosk does get too close to him.
DM When Chandan pushes open the door, he sees a large cellar, with stone steps at the far end of the room leading up to landing 15 feet above the cellar. There's a door on the opposite side of of the room at the landing level. A Redbrand Ruffian is up there pointing a an arrow at the secret door you just opened. A large cistern occupies the western part of the room, just north of where you enter. There's another door north of the cistern. The room is lit by oil lamps. Kriv looks about and notices movement at the top of the first set of steps up on either side (5 feet up). He suspects there are thugs hiding there. See the 2 yellow stars on the map.
Redbrands Initiative Neptune rolled 1d20+2 and got 21
Pushing open the door with his spear, he sees the Redbrand and shrieks. In a flurry of rags and dreadlocks, he dives straight through, lobbing his spear at the archer almost as an after-thought.
