The party moves across the street towards the Miner's Exchange. It's a small building in the southwest corner of the town. They walk down the street between the townmaster's hall on their left and the Lionshield Coster on their right before arriving at their destination.
The miner's exchange is a trading post where local miners have their valuable finds weighed, measured and paid out. Sitting behind the counter is a human woman. She looks up from some paperwork she was reading when you walk in. "Good morning," she says as she looks you up and down. "You do not look like miners to me. Either Zeim or I can explain. There are things we can do in town, where separating is fine and probably more productive. A lot of the queries can get done like that. There are other things that are more dangerous in town. Anthing that might be considered a "mission" should be tackled as a team.
As an example, visiting that bar and encountering the Redbrands at less than full strength was probably not prudent. Similarly, taking on the orcs requires a day and a half to just get there.
Visiting the miner's exchange is part of the investigation. We just decided to go tackle the orcs as our first mission. So when Lingo was talking before, he was agreeing to go on that mission first as he walked up to the miner's exchange and continue the investigation.

It was late morning and miners typically return from their labors as night falls. The group sees several scales, large and small, and other measuring devices on the counter. The woman behind the counter gathers the paperwork and places it under the counter.
"Orcs? Are you going after Harbin's reward then?"
She pulls over a high stool and sits down. "Miners run into them now and again. We've even lost one or two. Just never showed up one evening, without explanation. Usually happens in the direction of Wyvern Tor. Most of the miners stick to the west and south side of town now. Very few head east looking for nuggets."

"I am Ryssa, Cleric of Lathander," she said with a smile, touching her icon as she spoke.
"My friends here did not start the trouble at the tap house but..." she paused and her smiled widened somewhat.

She looks around your group. "How dead set are you on these Orcs? I might be able to match Harbin's offer for something closer to town. He was happy to let the more civil in the lot handle things. The more he thought on their discussion with the mayor, the more his opinion of the town had been deteriorated since =they= put up with him. Besides, they were wasting time they could be spending getting to those damned orcs.
[[ no, it makes sense to the player. =But= of course Bern doesn't care a wit for this town at the moment, so would have been fine with leaving to kill the orcs now ... fun before the drudge work <chuckle> ]]

"My friends and I were escorting some supplies to the town for Gundren. He went ahead and went missing on the road. We discovered some goblins that conducted the ambush. We rescued Sildar and brought some found supplies on to the town to return them to their rightful owners. We also want to locate Gundren and help him. Coming into town we discovered things and then ran into the Redbands. You know the story of that." The woman's question remaining unanswered, Ryssa grimaced, shrugged slightly and spoke up.
"We do not know for sure where Gundren Rockseeker is. He was kidnapped by the goblins we ran across. Most of them are dead - the goblins I mean."
Her expression grew serious.
