Daxia

Daxia looked at Dominie and inclined her head slightly, a tacit agreement to the rogue's statement.

"He is that, on occasion... and I intend to keep that in mind when his contract is up."

Then she looked at Mikal, grinning wickedly.

"Of course, I'll keep this conversation in mind, as well."

Mikal

He grinned at Daxia's rejoinder and looked on interestingly at the interplay between Dominie and Romana. He nods to Daxia's last comment, but a brief troubled look crosses his face, then vanishes.

He turns back to Dominie and ultimately addresses him. "Well, you know who I am, and seemingly you have met the others, but I wonder who you might be and what brought you to be at our table?"

Dean

The bafflement obvious in his tone, he replies, "W-What, my Lady? Of course I'm fine. Are you?"

He approaches her and offers the food. "You left your breakfast..."

Bekkah

She looked at him, sighed and continued what she was doing.

"Yes, good squire I am well. Perhaps a bit tired, but otherwise whole. I lost my appetite. I felt a strong desire to take a ride." she said grunting with the effort of tightening the saddle's straps.

"I shall not need an escort, I do not plan on going far and get in any trouble." she said as she finished and swung up on the saddle as best she could in her skirts, flashing a good amount of leg as she did it before she straightened her skirts.

Kadri

"Dominie is an eloquent ... Supplier of rumor."

Daxia

Daxia raised an eyebrow, briefly... as brief as Mikal's troubled look, before nodding in Kadri's direction, and responding to him.

"Yes, quite the pretty talker and a fine actor, as well. Romana and I are planning to keep him as a pet." She shrugged as she looked at her second. "Though he seems entirely too taken with Kadri and I don't think either of them can promise bedlam would not follow us wherever we go."

She sighed as she looked at Romana. "We may not be able to keep our pet, Romanashka," Dazi said sadly.

Kadri and Romana and Daxia and Dominie and Mikal!

"Alas and alackaday, that is far far too true. Dominies are wild creatures, free and dashing, cannot be chained by sun and moons but instead dances forever between them!"

He then smiled up to Kadri, eyeing the piece of empty bench she left vacant whens he scootched aside, as if considering if it were perhaps just enough Dominie sized ...

"You see, dashing Kadri, I do understand. I would never try and hold you ... well at least not like that, for to do so would be to lose you forever. We are alike in that ....

"Except ...

"Except, perhaps, you could revel in it just a little bit ..."

He grinned again,

"Even if its just a little teeny tiny little bit. I won't tell! Cross my heart and hope to stay as far away from vengeful brothers on horses as much as possible!"

Turning around again, he crossed his arms on the empty part opf Kadri's place, resting his chin upon them, obviously enjoying ... uhm ... the view.

"Who, me?"

Dommi looked back to Mikal, peeking over Kadri's legs.

"I'm Dommi of course! What else is there to know? I am fairly harmlesss, extroidinarily friendly and talkative, and know well enough I am surrounded by so much swords and magics that I'd be an idiot to even think of bringing trouble your way.

"Though I may hide behind the fair ones here if Garrick shows up. Not that I've ever ever done anything wrong, we just have this ongoing bet about being hung from the rafters and with the bright and bouncy and beautiful and so very nicely curvy Captain all sequestered up on Cragside I actually have a chance to win this time.

"Especially considering that even if I stood on pretty Kadri's cute shoulders, we still couldn't reach them!

"As for your other question...

" ... it was you yourself who noted how smart it was to spend time with three beautiful women, ja?"

Dean and a departing Bekkah

As Bekkah clipped clopped out of the Dragonstooth stables, one of the stablehands approached Dean.

"Here's your horse, sir ..."

And yes, it was his horse indeed, all bridled and saddled, all ready for an afternoon's ride.

"We kinda figured you'd be needing it, ja?"

Mikal

He grunts to the answer from Kadri and then Dominie as to the man's purpose, then sits at the table.

"Supplier of rumour, eh? And talkative. Hmmm. I have run into such before. Claiming such activities as your profession is dangerous, my friend."

He takes a bite from his lunch. "Not to mention unprofitable in and of itself. Unless one also becomes a talkative seller of rumour. That can be quite profitable, though it puts one's life in danger."

He glances upwards. "Rafters are not the only thing I have seen men who claimed such as their profession hung from before." He takes a drink, eyes fixed on Dominie over the rim of the mug.

After holding the man's eyes for a minute he turns to Daxia. "We have an appointment at the Guildhouse with Daffyd Stoneshield once we finish lunch."

Daxia

She held Mikal's eyes a moment before nodding slightly. "Not an appointment that gladdens my heart," Daxia said softly, "though only for the reason that we meet with Stoneshield and not Donner."

She turned back to Dominie.

"Hmmm, my clever Jvrillian friend does have some excellent points, DomDominie."

The redhead paused, tilted her head, looked up at the rafters for a good handful of heartbeats, and finally looked back at Dominie.

"So what is the nature of this bet that involves the good Sheriff, the stalwart Captain of the Wild Horde and wee Dominie? I'm simply curious, as I have very little experience with gambling... due entirely to a lack of interest, I assure you! But I do seem to have a small amount of interest in your delightful self... as a conversation partner only, I once again most strongly assure you!

"Now, it's possible you could hide behind Romana. Hiding behind Kadri I think would be more difficult. Hiding behind me...

"No, no... I shall not allow any hiding behind until I know why there needs to be hiding behind, da? Clever Dommie understands that, da?"

Kadri

"Better for you, I think, Domi, to avoid vengeful Amber lasses. My brothers, they ma be better with a sword, but I - I am MUCH more creative."

A wide, wide grin - or at least a showing of her teeth - graces her face.

"And while the honorable warrior knows how to do his thing - and do it very well."

She gives a respectful nod to both Dazi and Mikal.

"The fox knows many tricks, and when the fox is also a woman, well then, Domi ... Beware."

And at that the grin grows wider, and an eyebrow waggles.

Darian

"Darian knows what need know. Cesare ask more if want."

Cesare

"Think I've chatted enough for today. Anything you'd like to do? If not maybe you could teach me to use the bow?"

Darian

She turned towards him, her gold eyes serious. "No."

Dean

Squire Dean took the reins and swung himself up. He looked to the grinning groomsman and asked "You really think this best?"

Without waiting for a reply, he took off after the Lady Bekkah, still considering the wisdom of ignoring an order. Regardless of what she thought, she did need food.

[ooc: I almost feel sorry for the poor young guy, but if it's a confrontation he wants, far be it for her not to give it to him I'll assume he catches up with her]

Bekkah

She had walked the horse out of the stall and through the gate, she had kicked the horse gently and put it into a trot as she headed out of the town. She intended to just take a few laps around the town.

She happened to look back and then took a double take when she saw the squire.

She half wanted to cry, half wanted to just speed away and she might have, but she was certain that he was a better rider than she was and that he wouldn't stop so she pulled hard on the reins and turned her horse around to face him as he pulled up to her.

"Squire Dean what do you want?" she said angrily. If he was skilled at reading eyes, he'd see something else there as well.

Cesare

Stopping in the street he meets her gaze, head tilted on one side.

"Is this a hunter secret?"

He can respect that, there are some thinhs he knows that are known only to the Rhoni.

Darian

"Aye."

Cesare

He nods, disappointed but accepting.

"I just need to find a way to be able to contribute more effectively in a fight, after all we do seem to be finding them fairly regularly.. and maybe we've been lucky so far. I assume there are others that use bows or crossbows that might be willing to teach me, other than hunters that is. Maybe we should ask Mikal? He has contacts in town?"

Darian

She nodded at his explanation, understanding the reason behind the request. She fingered the wood of her bow.

"No true bow outside Pack. Only no-skill bow."

"Mikal guild brothers be here. Mayhap now town favor be willing."

[OOC Glad to hear it! But I always try to shape my character by his experiences and so far, having a longer range missile weapon seems to be the way to go. ]

Cesare

"Let's go see if he is back at the inn. He may know who best to speak to."

He holds out a hand in invitation.

Kadri and Romana and Daxia and Dominie and Mikal!

"Oh ... well he asked who I was and how I came to be here!"

Dominie perked up and slowly stood, and as he did he laced his fingers together, stretched and popped every knuckle with a sharp crack-crack-crack.

"He didn't ask how I earned my coin, and that's another question all together. As for yours ..."

"It's a friendly game of conversation, where we sit at the table, sharing a beer; well its Harry and Garrick who drink the beer, the Captain and I prefer wine at midwinters. We talk, we chat, we trade stories and see just how far into the night we get before the lovely flower of Trundle finally says it's time to hang me from the rafters. She wins when it leaves me hanging fo a good portion of the night. I win when she's had enough wine to forget she favors open collared tunics ..."

As he speaks he perambles around the table, a lazy and easy oing promenade. Until he stops, where he can look over Kadri's shoulder and out the window.

"It's going to be a nice midwinter's I can feel it now. Bright sun shining into the commons and all.

"Should I beware?

"That's not the important question, my lovely Amber lady, of sharp with, sharp tongue and sharp cut of cloak and dress ...

"The real question is ... if I did not beware ..."

And then, quick, suave, graceful and from out of nowhere, unexpected, the rake places a kiss directly atop Kadri's head.

" ... would you be able to catch me?"

Daxia

Daxia snickered when Dominie kissed Kadri's head, but spoke up before Kadri could chase him off.

"I would so very much like to substitute for my Temple Sister who was unable to join her friends here in Bordertown for Midwinters," she said, giving Dominie a sweet and innocent smile. "The good Captain of the Wild Horde spoke very highly of both Sheriff Garrick and Swordlord Molkavin. Quite sadly, she did fail to mention your name, DomDomDomDominie... but no matter! I find you quite interesting, and think it might be worth the effort to see how near my guess for hanging you from the rafters comes to Verchovai Dandelion's usual proclamation."

She paused, and tilted her head slightly.

"Of course, I prefer neither beer nor wine. My drink of choice is mulled cider."

Kadri:

And almost as quickly, she looks up, wiggles her eyebrows at him ... And motions her head to the wooden spoon aimed straight at the region between his legs and ...

Hovering.

"I think the answer is ..."

Another raised eyebrow.

"Yes?"
